The fact that two players, one who never reached his prime and the other still in it have retired because of concerns with their physical and mental health has to have the NFL concerned.

The 49ers are really starting to crumble. They have traded P Andy Lee to Cleveland. In exchange they receive a 7th round draft pick in 2017.

Disappointed it comes to this, we offered him more money last year, he knocked it back, wasnt good enough, the guy wanted a new contract, felt was he undervalued, a 33 year old guard who missed significant time, he's had the chance to find a trade for 2 years and couldnt find a trade partner and now is skipping OTAs.

I understand releasing him but i cant help but think Chipper should have seen this situation coming a little bit and hit the draft/FA to replace him.
