Surely it would potentially increase the sample size
Well this is the point. A tiny minority of the people 'inspired' by any given fundamentalist talking head commit acts of violence, suggesting the problem is with the ones committing the violence, and not the words they're hearing.

There are facts when it comes to science. There are no facts when it comes to religion.
There are definitely facts about religion. It's just that so many of them are unverifiable. Or even if they can be known by some they can't be proved to others.

No different from most other things involving humans.

If I can routinely test something to determine how it works/it’s existence, would you not call that a fact?
True there may be something at an even finer level but it doesn’t negate the factual evidence above it.
The difference between your “facts and interpretations” is faith. Religion is faith in the existence of something irregardless of everything else. Pure faith would be even willing to question your own existence before questioning the existence of whatever higher power. Science doesn’t place faith in anything, rather stating you can and should test existence, not just take it as gospel
How many scientific facts do you believe because somebody else wrote them in books? We're not all scientists with facilities and equipment able to verify things for ourselves.

Yeah but statistics. If you increase the sample size and if the statistic correlates, then you’d have more people inspired to act violently

Did you find any results Mr Scientist?
A- No. Nothing. Now give me 120k for next year.

B- Yes we found that there was some sort of explosion. But I need more time and money to research this.

Unverifiable facts is an oxymoron.

But science is capable and willing to verify them for you. There are multiple books written on multiple competing hypotheses. You can place whatever level of trust you want in the books, the book is still examinable.
The point of religion isn’t that the book is examinable, it’s the individual who is. All kinds of shit can be thrown at the person to test their faith in what is written in the book.

They will find another justification for acting violently. There is always something that pisses violent people off. The problem is that they're violent, not whom they're listening to.

Not at all. If I'm a drunkard or an adulterer I might feel unsafe after Folau's social media activity, or I might not. Either is a fact but you won't know. You just have to take my word for it. I might just be pissed off at him, but claim to feel unsafe to shut him up. The fact of how I'm feeling is only knowable by me.

Why would you think religion is about stuff written in books when the evidence points to it being about human interaction?

If 1 of those people only act violently because of fundamentalist influence, then statistically increasing that influence over a greater population it will potentially make another person act violently.
STATISTICS ARE ALL THAT MATTER, MERKIN!!

You've gone off on a gobbledygook tangent.

What facts are there behind religion ? Because there are certainly facts from a science POV. Remember, a fact is proved to be true. Would a court after assessment of the evidence, deem any notion behind the existence of <insert your own belief> to be true ?

My point is it's not the fundamentalist influence that's making them act violently. They act violently because they're merkins, not because some cleric told them their wife walked out because the West corrupted her.

As for statistics, you don't have any stats for the null hypothesis; what would've occurred without that particular influence. The real world is not a lab experiment. Or if it is none of us get to see the rest of the data.

I dunno man.

There's a loooooot of priests over the world.

Would be an interesting thing to compare if I could be bothered. But I can't

You could start at Lithgow, Berrima or Long Bay Jail. There's a bunch there.
