Trump's comments are so much worse than Hillary trying to intimidate her husband's victims into silence, and so much worse than Hillary laughing about how she got the man who raped a 12 year old girl off when she was a lawyer.

I mean, Trump is such a misogynist and Hillary is such a campaigner for women's rights...

Agree he is a phenomenon. If a candidate has one issue and said a clanger like trump, it would be over. Yet he says and does shit so often, merkins are immune to his shenanigans.

He said 6 months ago that he could shoot someone in Times Square and people would still vote for him. I think its true.

Women, people of colour and Hispanics all despise him, however many of those are unmotivated to vote.

I hope he does not get over, but if white redneck men, die hard republicans and evangelists do vote in large numbers, then you never know.

Illegal immigrants to be forced out and have tighter control over who gets in their country. Whether you believe there are true threats or it's over exaggerated terror is on their minds and they believe the threat is real. That fear has not come from Trump either.......he is just the one saying he'll do something about it.

He is also not talking about gun control and restrictions to citizens who think they truly need guns to survive, which is a lot of common people he will get support from more people than we can understand.

Talk of cutting taxes would be favourable as well, regardless of the cost to the country. With such a big population on the poverty line they are already broke, so tax cuts gives them more money and if it can't be sustained they just go back to be f**ked......no biggie for them.

I have stated before, whichever one wins makes no difference to me and my life in a completely separate country, so I am unsure why people here (in this country in general) have such strong feelings about it when they care little about the governments in say Africa where they commit mass genocides all the time and bring us such great pictures on our TV to sponsor children with their ribs poking out and on their death bed. I guess people feel that them paying a $1 a day for those kids to be victims of brutal regimes makes them feel all good inside while they whinge about Trump saying something stupid?

As for why we should give a shit about America...

If you ask people who study world politics, they will say that a strong and stable America means a strong and stable western world. Their influence on the world is profound. They are a major trading partner to a lot of countries, their economy is stronger than most and they have a significant military presence. This is why people refer them as a 'superpower'.

Africa, on the other hand have been a basket case for decades and have no influence at all. They rely largely on the support of others and don't have the ability to offer much at all.

Therefore, I suspect the main reason that people care more about the USA than they do about Africa is largely due to (a) awareness of how the world functions and (b) self interest.

As for what would happen if he got in? Yes, he will be largely ineffective in changing domestic policy but how many relationships with important partners (domestically and abroad) will be destroyed by his ham fisted approach?
