Non Footy Chat Thread II

It certainly destroyed Manly’s season. You see the players that don’t agree with it have every right just like the people that do.
Yes, the views of the intolerant 7 at Manly did certainly destroy their season.
That’s what you cannot comprehend and accept and there is evidence of it all over the world.
This part doesn't really make sense... I'm not questioning people's right to have their views - just criticising the views they (you) have on this issue.

Netball fiasco? Saying no to "gift" sponsorshop from a particular (and let's face it, quite damaging) capitalist corporation isn't quite in the same ballpark as he Manly 7 being intolerant about a one game pride jersey promoting inclusion in the sport.

You did by changing the public school curriculum and descriptors without consultation. Some of it I disagree with which is why I support religious schools that can simply say, ‘we won’t be doing that.’
I think you're confusing me with perhaps... hmm, the current NSW (right-wing) government, who is in charge of school curriculums?

Personally I don't think religious/private schools should get an ounce of public funding (and can then be free to do and teach what they want), but that's another story for another day.

Intolerant? FFS. They don’t agree with it. The end. But you cannot tolerate their views. You see where I’m coming from?

They get funding because it’s cheaper for the government. They are actually helping the bottom line.

Is that the same evil corporation that help with keeping the lights on and powering/building the world? Even that silly mobile phone that you are communicating with?

Try and do that with alternatives, Greta.

Intolerant for questioning the "tolerance" of people who can't seem to wrap their head around anything other than black and white gender expressions, without thinking the world's fabric is destroyed? Intolerant for questioning the "tolerance" of the Manly 7 who can't cope with a bit of rainbow on a jersey for just one match?

And "given", lol.

The same, but I don't have to agree to "take" their gift of sponsorship in return for wearing their logo on my shirt every time I'm in public.

That choice is simply freedom and democracy - and is only a fiasco to the media friends of said powerful corporation, and the people who are easily influenced by those "news" sources.

I have heard/get that argument... However I'd rather see the government moeny given to posh private schools that have been building property portfolios and making expensive renos plowed back into help the bottom line available to enhance opportunities for government schools who can't cherry pick their students/families based on available wealth.

Pretty much all church schools were originally built on/from land gifted to them for free by governments back in the early days... very questionable now they've all turned into capitalist businesses, rather than the original spirit of education for which they received (and still receive disproportionate) government support.

A bit of rainbow from the same people that are allowed every year to mock and ridicule religion particularly Christianity. Or is that just them expressing their views no matter who/if they offend. A few years ago I saw a crucifix smeared with Vaseline and and placed in a condom.

Imagine they did it with other religions? But the MAJORITY just have to cop it because we are nasty, old fashioned and intolerant.

You started it by trying to argue about something that you really can’t argue about, then raising movies, transvestites, transgender, any person that looks like a woman with a scrotum etc.

I don’t care what these people do. It’s their right but there is an opportunity cost with their choice. They should not be vilified but just don’t try and impose it on my life and criticise the personal views of this ‘old man’ to cater for a demographic that is in single digits percentage wise. We’ve changed laws already so that these individuals are protected and I support that.

Last time I checked I’m in the f**king majority. What else do you want? Maybe you should run the show and blow the world’s biggest trumpet for the 5%ers. See how you go.

As I said earlier.
As we've been raised out of pverry these Minorities have been given a voice. And with social media a platform. It's great they have a voice but these silly rich white people feel guilty now and are letting these f**king ridiculous ideas run rampant. The other day I heard they want to ban red pens when marking exams. It scars kids. I mean ffs.

As I also said we are going into the unknown because we have no idea how all this shit will effect the human race and societies. Better perhaps or could be worse. Either way some things going on are f**king stupid

I actually half agree with you here. I would rather have stronger state based schooling but the horse has bolted and it’s undeniable it’s still saves the government money by funding private/religious schools. Problem is if children go to state schools the majority should be able to determine what is taught, not the minority.

Who's that... the Manly Board? When did they mock religion particularly Christianity every year?

Hateful people (christians) like Fred Nile could be said to have "started" all of that.

And the "majority just have to cop it" lol. Poor snowflake... don't worry, maybe the gays will all go back to just having a parade one weekend a year, just the way old fashioned people "tolerated" them...
