Penrith has now broken its all time record. It's now 46.7 deg's.
This is insane today!!!!!

I know it's weird quoting one's own posts, but I just want to make a further comment.
Penrith broke it's all time record today, but records only go back 20 years as the Penrith AWS only goes back 20 years. It was set up at the Regatta centre for the Olympics back in '96 or '97.
Sydney metro's highest temp belongs to Richmond RAAF base and is 47.8.
I think it was back in 1939.
There's a good chance that Penrith was also hotter than today on that day, but there are no recorded records to prove it, hence today's record.

Just on a side note.........temps on the far south coast today have generally remained in the low/mid 20's behind the southerly.
The change is on its way but is still quite a few hours away yet.
Not long now kids for some relief.

My office has no air con (well, a portable, crappy one), and is all windows, copping the sun all day...

I'm stuck at work, and inside the office, it is 53.4 degrees...

Luckily, I finish at 5...
