I think he means opponents of Pou end up sucking his shit, while he remains with a full tank of gas, willing and able to go on unfatigued.

Going to the US with the family and 2 of my best mates and their families in September. We've got an itinerary pretty much sorted, we're west coasting it only. We've got a 3 night gap up our sleeves after Vegas. We were originally going to road trip it to San Fran from Vegas and then fly back to LA for the connection to Hawaii on the way home.... But now thinking might give San Fran a miss and either drive somewhere else, either driving or would fly somewhere else and then fly back to LA for the Hawaii hook up.

I was thinking about flying up to Vancouver for the few days. For a family of 4 tho it ends up adding about 2 grand in flights which seems a bit steep... But maybe we'll save in accommodation as I hear San Fran is pricey

Anyone got any suggestions? Maybe just road trip it south from Vegas to San Diego and head over the border to Tijuana?

San Fran is a great city.
It's a bit pricey in parts, but you could probably find a good deal somewhere.

I'd would say to head out to Lake Tahoe for a couple of days, but since you're going in September there wouldn't be as much to do there. Not hot enough to swim, not cold enough to ski. Still a beautiful spot though.

The road trip south would be a good one too. I'm not big on Tijuana, but San Diego is fun.
I haven't been up to Canada yet, so can't help you out with that one.

Ta Twiz, appreciate the insight.

I did a comparison between flying to Vancouver and flying to Seattle instead tonight (and then driving to Vancouver from there, see some other bits of the US) and the difference is huge! $300 v $860 Aussie dollars for a family of 4.

Running it past the others fam's and see what they want to do.

Cheers

We just got back from the US and can vouch for Hawaii - great destination. Whilst we spend 80% of our time in New York, we did spend 5 days in LA on the way home. Avoid. To me LA is a hole. Most of it reminds me of Hume Highway Liverpool with homeless merkins everywhere. Manly tacked on at the coast (Santa Monica, Venice) and Kings Cross at the other end (Hollywood), with the rich living in the hills (think Pymble, Warawee, Wahroonga). Nothing place, don't understand the hype.

What's Hawaii like gronk. Only taken the kids to Fiji a couple of times recently and considering other destinations over the next 12 months.

I keep hearing mixed reports about Hawaii.

My take on Hawaii (Waikaki anyway) is that it's like the Gold Coast only they've got it right. The Hotels are top shelf as is the service. I tell you what the Hawaiians work hard for their tips and you really notice how good their service is when you hit the US mainland.

Beautiful landscapes, huge variety of restaurants. The wife went ballistic on shopping. Even though we lost 30% on the US$, prices were half what you'd pay in Sydney. We got uber out to an outlet shopping center and (no kidding) I had to buy a extra suitcase just to get the shit home.

We were there in winter and the nights were 21 and the days 27.

From the look of it we only scratched the surface of Hawaii. People I have spoken to tell me that Maui is awsome as are the other islands.

We have explored all of the pacific islands over the years Fiji, Cook Islands (Raratonga, Aututaki) Vanuatu, Western Samoa plus done Bali (jimboran, Ubud, Seminyak) Thailand (Phuket, Phi Phi), Malaysia (Tioman Island, Sepang) and are only inclined to go back to Hawaii. Maybe Ubud if I want to chill.

The Gold coast is a shithole full of plastic people.

The Sunshine coast is a lovely place, always enjoy going up there for a visit.
