We've looked at booking a beer garden at a pub. Some want you to provide security, some will provide for you. Prices can be reasonable and there are actually some good deals on Scoopon/Groupon. You can do drinks packages or put money on the bar. Doing it this way you avoid the issue of kids rocking up with waay too much grog and things getting out of hand and the bar has the responsibility of checking for under age drinkers that can get you into huge trouble if things go awry.

We used groupon in New York. Easy way to save 40% odd at a restaurant. A few times we'd see a restaurant on the open table app that had good reviews and find that a groupon discount is available. Book it on open table and then buy groupon via the app. Waitress scans the bar code on your phone. Winner winner chicken dinner.

I have been a Bowie fan for as long as I have been old enough to listen to proper music (30 odd years). He was imperious in the 70s, forgettable after Scary Monsters, had a creative revival in the 90s and after a couple of albums in the early 00s, was largely retired.

I thought his comeback album in 2013 was alright, but a little too heavy on nostalgia. What a massive shame it is then that it took something as tragic as him facing his own mortality to come up with his best work since Scary Monsters. Blackstar is Bowie at his best. Big, bold and beautiful in parts but also contains moments of bonkers jazzy noise that are as edgy as f**k.

Absolutely does my head in that a dying 69 year old man could make an album so great.

US presidential hopeful Ted Cruz's claim sexual assaults on women in Australia went up significantly after strict gun laws were introduced has been challenged by a Washington Post analysis.

"And as you know, Hugh, after Australia did that (gun buyback program), the rate of sexual assaults, the rate of rapes, went up significantly, because women were unable to defend themselves," Mr Cruz told the radio host.

Before GBBS - 99% were unarmed

After GBBS - 99.99999 are now unarmed.

The increase would also be largely due to improvements in the way victims are treated so that reporting has gone up. There may not have been actual increases in the attscks but they are now less likely to go unreported
