Thank you for your second chance that is part of the thing that is great, democracy. I do not have to justify why I think it is great. You have a problem with our great country that is your problem to deal with. How misserable you must be. I love this country and did not say it does not have its problems.Your comment that you hide away on Australia day and your negativity about it say plenty about you.
But for your sake I have been to Hawaii, Thailand, Fiji, New Zealand Vanuatu and Vietnam.
Hi big fatso too.
You said it was "the greatest country in the world".
I then asked whether you had lived elsewhere because that is a pretty bold statement. In my experience the sorts of people who say Australia is "the greatest country in the world" typically haven't travelled more than about 2 hrs from where they were born. People said that sort of shit a lot in the 70s and 80s.
Also, I explained that Australia is a fine country but it just may not be the best country in the world. That is a perfectly reasonable statement to make and does not mean that I am miserable. It actually means I am realistic and capable of thinking beyond some cliched black and white statements that are meaningless.
I see that you will by 40 in 5 years time (a strange way of saying you are 35). You don't seem particularly mature for someone of that age. I am smack bang in the middle of yourself and Barry in terms of age.
With all due respect, it is possible to love Australia and not love Australia Day, particularly for those of us who have seen it morph into something a little more sinister. Don't take everything so literally, the comment about "hiding from bogans" doesn't mean that I have actually spent the day in a cupboard. It was a criticism of what I see as the ugly side and the ugly people that come out to play on Australia Day. The very people that if they had their way, would never have let your parents into this country.
Not exactly the sort of attitudes you'd expect of people living in the "greatest country in the world" are they?
