I call bullshit on that. Not demeaning the sex slave issue but less than 100 is a downright lie. You obviously have never ventured past the inner west if you truly believe this is accurate. Then you add in every other state.

Well an Imam in Perth recently said that there would be lucky to be 50 in his state.

He said he had heard anecdotally the number of Muslim women who wore a full face-veil in the state was less than 50.

"Which is about 0.16 per cent of the state's Muslim population," he said.

So in a smaller state there may be 50 and in NSW where there is a much larger community there are only less than 50 covering those?

I'm not arguing to get rid of them either, i couldn't care less. They look stupid, can't be comfortable but if they want to look oppressed wearing it then that is their problem. I just don't know why we speak of numbers all the time.

I do think they should be made to remove it in whatever place a helmet must be removed though. If they are allowed to go into a room to identify themselves then that should be the same for motorcycle riders.

I would suggest the "white people" just think it is un-australian to cover up that way. Plenty of Indian, Italian, Greek, Pakistani, Asian, European people i know and work with think it is just as ridiculous and are just as racist towards them as "white people".

It is a not "white person" issue, it is a world issue, not just the burka either.......but it is all related.

TBH if they r seriously talking of banning it they need to ban 2 (if not 3 of those) that cover the face ... i dont think anyone just means the one when they say it .... fine, they r uneducated on it, but the ppl who throw that back in their faces are just being smart arses about it - they know what they mean

Gross debt should never be used as a measure. A certain amount of gross debt is desirable. Rudd inherited around 50 billion in gross debt, yet still had around 8 billion to allocate to the future fund in Swan's first budget ( which then went into deficit )
