We used to get funnel webs in our pool when I was a kid. Males are like 10c piece size and females 20c.

We used to get redbacks in our current house. They are all gone now since the daddy long legs gang moved in.

There's clearly only one way to solve it. Let the f**ker bite you. If you die a painful death, you'll know it's a funnelweb. Depending on current health, if you just get really f**king painfully sick (and possibly die) then it was probably a mouse spider.

Actually the safer way is if the f**ker chases you, it's probably a funnelweb. If it can't be f**ked moving, it's probably a mouse spider

Is your place surrounded by scrub? Don't they generally inhabit leafy areas like national parks (Ku-Ring-gai and those sorts of areas) ??

FMD. OK so you need to have a talk to your redbacks. They dropped the ball by letting that merkin in the house. Redbacks usually keep funnel webs in line. Who keeps redbacks in line - daddy long legs. Those long legs keep the redback at a distance whilst they spin thread all over the f**ker and suck his juices. Who keeps daddy long legs in line - nobody. Leave them alone.

I dont live near bush and not in a particularly leafy area

Usually i spray some good old fashion pesticide around outside to keep the cockies at bay. But havent done that this year
