Good on him. If Sam’s moral highground is founded on the claim that there are racists happy to harass him in public then he certainly proved it here, stunt or otherwise. It probably also takes some balls to go and find people who hate you, even in a public bar.You might recall that Pauline pines for the old days
"She fondly recalled a time when Greeks and Italians were called “Mediterranean Descendants” and they “simply got on with it"."

Can I just say that I would not be surprised if Sam did place himself in a position where a goon might approach him. He has been on the publicity trail for some time after he "reinvented" himself after the China broohaha.
It is coming out now that the goon is an aggressive member of the United Patriots Front.
Or maybe I am just a cynic and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Nobody said it was warranted. Just the implication that he benefitted from being attacked more than he suffered. Politicians all have thick skins, even when they pretend they don’t. Dastyari wouldn’t give a f**k about those idiots. He’s a well paid politician and they’re f**king nobodies.Apparently Daystari was there at the pub for a promotional speech/talk publicising his recently released book. Not sure he has placed himself in any position that warranted that vitriolic, disgraceful and intimidating verbal attack.
Politicians all have thick skins,
If they didn’t have thick skins they wouldn’t put themselves out there for criticism. People complain about the money pollies get but it’s a job that would crush normal people.

Is racial abuse materially any different to any other personal abuse? The only difference is that you have recourse to legal revenge. You put yourself out there, and you know you are going to cop a lot more public criticism than the average Joe, and that you'll lose most of your privacy etc. You aren't consenting to be racially abused (even if you expect it).
That’s right. It’s why the best people don’t get into politics. It’s not worth it for anyone motivated by money, and if you’ve got kids you always need more money.Politicians get paid peanuts compared to what they could earn in the private sector. Turnbull is on $500k and has 10x the stress that a CEO of a ASX200 company has who would get paid $1.5-2M minimum.
The bottled one already has a fair amount of sediment on the bottom. I doubt I've got the patience to wait six weeks though. I can always make more. The IPA I'll give a fair chance as it cost roughly double the other one and I'm curious to see how good it can get. Still fermenting nicely after five days.I'd be leaving the IPA for a good couple of months before trying. You'll find the Coopers won't be cloudy at all after 6 weeks

I’d rather be abused for my ethnicity than for my moustache or my fat guts. Especially if the abuse was caught on video.
What a f**ken c**k gobbler. Hopefully he runs into someone that crushes him into a cube and then shits on the cube. The merkin has form.

Like how men are a minority compared to women?Racial abuse may well be very different to other abuse, particularly if you (the recipient of the abuse) are the 'outsider' / minority in a society or group. Being in the overwhelming majority and copping a bit of racial abuse isn't good, but the broader impact on the recipient is not likely to be as great.
Like how men are a minority compared to women?
In which size group must the recipient of abuse be in to qualify as a minority? Global? National? Within that particular city? Or just within earshot?
