If they want the party to lean further to the right they have to accept it will appeal to fewer voters and thus spend more time in opposition.

Or join Cory Bernardi at the Australian Conservatives.

Some of them would probably prefer to have a right leaning party in opposition than have a left leaning party in power.

Beer update: batch one is going ok at four days in the bottle. Needs more carbonation and is very cloudy (it's Coopers) but tastes like beer. Batch two, Brew A, is four days old and looks f**ken awesome. Still bubbling away. It's nice to know that when I go to work the beer is home, making itself.

What type of beer?

I find the beer best if you can wait 8 weeks from the time you first put it in the tub (3-4 weeks for cider). I wouldn't touch it before 5-6 weeks though.

The bottled one came with the kit, it's Coopers original lager. I know I should be waiting but I can't help trying it out as it progresses. The one fermenting now is Thomas Coopers Brew A, an IPA.

I'd be leaving the IPA for a good couple of months before trying. You'll find the Coopers won't be cloudy at all after 6 weeks

Had to laugh at Sam Dastayari's colleague's riposte to the racist idiots in Melbourne who asked him 'what race is Islam?'....
'What race is dickhead?'

What is more concerning are the comments from Pauline Hanson.
Hardly surprising though.

But Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said there should be "zero tolerance" for the behaviour.

"There is no place for racial vilification in Australia," he told Sunrise.

"We are the most successful multicultural society in the world and that is because … our society is built on a foundation of respect.

"We should have zero tolerance for racism and racist abuse like that."

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten told Channel Seven that he spoke to Senator Dastyari shortly after the incident.

"I rang Senator Sam, he was in good spirits, but what is this country coming to when you can't go out and have a meal without being abused by idiots — and by racist idiots?"

One Nation senator Pauline Hanson told Sky News that Senator Dastyari was using being called a "terrorist" to sell his book.

"He's a big boy … and I think he's just using this to get publicity to sell his book and I don't see anything in this, I really don't," she said this morning.

You might recall that Pauline pines for the old days

"She fondly recalled a time when Greeks and Italians were called “Mediterranean Descendants” and they “simply got on with it"."

Can I just say that I would not be surprised if Sam did place himself in a position where a goon might approach him. He has been on the publicity trail for some time after he "reinvented" himself after the China broohaha.

It is coming out now that the goon is an aggressive member of the United Patriots Front.

Or maybe I am just a cynic and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Apparently Daystari was there at the pub for a promotional speech/talk publicising his recently released book. Not sure he has placed himself in any position that warranted that vitriolic, disgraceful and intimidating verbal attack.
