Are these home made beers as good as the stuff I can get from Dan Murphy’s, or just cheaper?

The Summer Ale I did the other month is better than any Summer Ale I've bought and I can tell you I've had a few.

I find that if you're trying to replicate a commercial beer, like a Carlton Draught, etc, then you will never get it anywhere near as close, you might as well just buy the real thing. But craft beer is essentially just commercialised home brew in reality, so it's up to the individual pallet what they prefer. I've made some awesome beers that would compete with any commercial craft beer.

Most ciders I have done are as good if not better than any cider I've had. Ciders are pretty easy to brew too.

Racism is a funny beast. An asian woman faced court a month or so ago after a prolonged broken english racist rant in a Macquarie Uni carpark aimed at a innocent young woman wearing a burqa.

To me, that is a mind f**k.
Why is that a mind f**k? ... only whities are racist?

Well the way that I look at it, I suspect that the young asian girl would probably have faced racism herself sometime in her life, certainly in her time in Australia anyway. Accordingly, would not that make you conscious of these issues and therefore have some empathy for a fellow new immigrant ?
You think racism is caused by a lack of empathy? It comes from feeling threatened. ‘Good’ immigrants can’t f**king stand ‘bad’ ones.

That’s because you’re rich Gronk.

Well I ain't and I don't see the value in racism. But I like to see the good in merkins and I also hate this whole "everything is racist" attitude that seems to be so common these days.

I think Mediterranean Descendants are right up there tbh

Having lived in Asia, holy shit some of the stuff you hear...but yeah the old MDs are up there too.

Honestly the worst ones I encountered in footy were the indigenous guys. But I've been told that they can't be racist by social media activists so I guess they don't count

Hell yeah. The apple does not fall far from the tree. You are not born racist. It comes from your culture and social environment where the people around you don't give a crap.

It is only through an empathetic understanding of the roots of racism that we can begin to push back against long-standing beliefs that have passed down from generation to generation.

Racism isn’t a conscious choice, and of course there’s no ‘value’ in it other than the evolutionary benefits of forming in-groups, which don’t matter to people with sufficient resources to remain independent of racialised in-groups.

But people without those resources, which include many immigrants as well as indigenes and poor whites, do benefit from racialised in-groups. Which is why they’re so racist.
