Racism isn’t a conscious choice, and of course there’s no ‘value’ in it other than the evolutionary benefits of forming in-groups, which don’t matter to people with sufficient resources to remain independent of racialised in-groups.
But people without those resources, which include many immigrants as well as indigenes and poor whites, do benefit from racialised in-groups. Which is why they’re so racist.
I think you're oversimplifying it a touch. There is an inherent tribal attitude in human beings, but there is a lot more to why this turns into racism than resources. Ultimately it's experience that creates racism, and that includes resources but also education, environment and just general life experiences. And I think there's certainly a psychological aspect as well.
