I just checked out the NBL site.

Where are the Bullets ffs? What about the Gold Coast Rollers? And who let some Kiwi merkins into the comp?

it was all downhill for brisy after leaping leeroy loggins retired

gold coast was a nothing franchise tho - just like every other sport, there's never a legit gold coast team

canberra canons were the most successful club and they went arse up too ..... apparently the son of ex-canon dave simmons (son ben), is one of the likely #1 draft picks next year .... I wonder if he is considered an aussie?

Not sure why Leapin' Leeroy retired. He was only 53. He still had a few good years in him.

Same with that cueball from Canberra, Phil Smyth...

Ben Simmons' mum is dinky di but he has a pretty well and truly solidified US accent. Aussie by birth only I'd reckon.

Scott Fisher?

He was better known as a Perth Wildcat (Kings beat them to win their 1st championship), pretty sure he naturalised and played for Australia?

D'Mac or Darryl McDonald was the famous yank. Also their coach from back then, Brett Brown, won an NBA championship as assistant to the Spurs, and is now head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ok, i followed the NBL too much in the mid 90s....

Good stuff OMC.

I must have been too busy trying to get my balls licked around this time to remember all of this.
