You mean the way we are supposed to act and think according to the politically correct.

No. And I apologise for being rude. There are more than two ways to look at most issues, and I'm suggesting that this is one of those. It's far more complex than I think you appreciate, and your reaction seems to be an emotional one, which is usually not a good sign that you're on the right track.

If he gets booed, he has himself to blame in my opinion.

The problem is the booing is getting mixed with people making racist comments, and the little kiddies who hear the racist comment may think the racism is justified because everyone else is joining in the booing.

It's a fact that is how Hitler started

I didn't think you were rude but interested as to why you think this is complicated.

Why is it so complex that he irritates people ?

Race relations are a complex issue. Did all the hurt, anger and pain end because a law was passed declaring everyone equal? Did all forms of discrimination stop then? All the injustices were undone and repaid? Then there's the individuals involved, their own personal experiences. These are only some of the issues. I don't see how anyone could not see its complexity.

Hitler went to AFL games? That explains it...

OK I see what you mean by complex issues but, you are making one huge assumption.

I really dont think the majority of the people who dont like Goodes, me included, feel that way because of his race. The people I am talking about are those who post on FB who clearly dislike him. In all the abuse he cops, no one refers to his race or skin colour.

I could give you alot more reasons why I dont like this egotistical powder puff none of which have anything to do with his aboriginality. I think that type of opinion is pretty outdated nowdays.

If you're a dick head, you're a dick head. Race is irrelevant.

It is true though that it does become complex purely because the history is so f**king atrocious of what happened to indigenous people in this country. FFS they were part of the Flora and Fauna act until like 1967, and we steal their children, f**king disgusting!!!!!

I think the complexity comes with where one currently resides. I have never worked anywhere where someone didn't get a job because of race. I have worked with many indigenous people in Sydney and there are equal opportunities for everyone.

I would imagine it is probably very different when you start to head out of the metropolitan areas and certain attitudes and stigmas that people have don't help anyone.

All anyone can do is respect everyone, no matter what someone's race, religion, disability etc. is and be a good person, the rest will take care of itself.

When you boil it down, the fact is that Goodes is a proud indigenous man who performed a war-dance and who has been booed at unprecedented levels ever since, no matter where he goes. If you think that is not largely due to racism then I disagree.

I agree, he also doesn't fit comfortably into the Aboriginal box that people expect him to. He doesn't behave in the way 'we' want Aboriginal people to behave. He polarises people and much of that is because of the way he communicates his Aboriginality.

He threw a pretend spear, if you're that scared, duck.

So its believed to be because of that war dance he did that people are booing? Didnt he do that during an indigenous round? I thought people would go yeah cool its indigenous round. But I also thought he did that cos they were booing him.

I think its f**kin disgraceful that its happening. And i cant believe the AFL have let it go on and on. I dont think its ALL about racism. I think it is for a small group but then mob mentality has taken over and they are hence supporting the small group of idiots.

You've only got to look at the lack of action taken against Eddie Maguire
when he suggested that Goodes should audition for King Kong, and therein lies your problem.
I believe it is racism. Haynzy said it best.

Could very well be, no one knows exactly why these crowds do it. All the opinions being posted suggest its not racially motivated but they obviously dont speak for everyone.

I think thats pretty accurate. He did his little dance to taunt the people booing him and in his words it showed he is proud of his heritage, problem is that it just made matters worse as he taunted them so he got it back in spades.

Now Lewis Jetta is on the bandwagon so its probabaly going to get worse before it gets better.

I had never liked Goodes. Dives, plays for penalties, and a bit over rated. But he earned a massive amount of my respect the day he stood up to the taunts of a racist crowd (which turned out to be a 15 yr old unfortunately). No one deserves that kind of taunt thrown at them.

The majority of people booing him probably aren't doing it for racist reasons, and are just going along with a growing crowd. But by booing for no reason they are simply supporting that racist element, so they need to stop immediately. As the saying goes "The standard you walk past, is the standard you accept".

I don't know anything about AFL but I jeered Mundine not cos he was indigenous but cos he was a royal class knob.

If it was ever construed that it had racial undertones then smart merkins would not be involved in shit like that.

Thankfully, the supreme arbiter of justice (Alan Jones) has intervened to add some balance to the debate:

Radio shock jock Alan Jones has delivered a scathing assessment of Sydney Swans star Adam Goodes on national television, saying the champion footballer always "plays the victim" and needs to change his behaviour if he wants crowds to stop booing him at AFL games.
The 2GB presenter claimed crowds were reacting negatively to the 35-year-old because they simply didn't like his behaviour, including his "spear throwing and the running in and doing a war dance and so on and provoking people".
Jones insisted crowds had not forgotten when Goodes "humiliated" a 13-year-old girl who was in the crowd of an AFL match in 2013. The teenager was escorted from the MCG after calling Goodes an ape. She later apologised and claimed she did not know the word was a racist slur.

The world is pretty angry at a US Dentist who paid $50k to lure Cecil the Lion out of a protected reserve so he could kill it.

What the actual f**k is cool about killing these animals for sport ?

This infuriates me more than anything to be honest.

Hunting for pests I can accept, even though I don't like it but animals where their numbers have dropped significantly over the decades just beggars belief!

I don't care who it is, Aussie icon or not, I hope they suffer the same fate as their victims of senseless acts of violence and death!
