Yeh, I don't mind hunting if you are the eat the product (got to be better than modern farming in most cases), but killing things for the hell of it I just don't get.

I think thats pretty accurate. He did his little dance to taunt the people booing him and in his words it showed he is proud of his heritage, problem is that it just made matters worse as he taunted them so he got it back in spades.

Now Lewis Jetta is on the bandwagon so its probabaly going to get worse before it gets better.

His "little dance"?

Another indigenous player supporting him in the face of mass harassment is "on the bandwagon"?

Patronising much?

This infuriates me more than anything to be honest.

Hunting for pests I can accept, even though I don't like it but animals where their numbers have dropped significantly over the decades just beggars belief!

I don't care who it is, Aussie icon or not, I hope they suffer the same fate as their victims of senseless acts of violence and death!

This douchebag posted on twitter after he killed the lion, apologizing to the local people as he said he didn't know it was a local favourite

he blamed his tour guide for not pointing that out as he should have killed some other lion instead

These rednecks kill 30 of their own citizens every day, its just part of their nature to own guns and kill things

I really dont get it

Spot on. Hunting for food is also acceptable. If it is done in a humane way. However I have mates that go 'piggin' with dogs and I seriously question their motivations. Using a bowie knife to kill a wild boar whilst it is pinned down by its ears by two or more dogs is something I cannot understand or accept.

Never been into that type of shit. Once whilst at Jindabyne I was with mates who were shooting for Roos, who are in plague like proportions out there. I couldn't do it. I just walked with them and enjoyed the hike.

I would kill adult humans before i touched an animal to be completely honest, but that is probably a little extreme for most, i just generally don't like the human race.

I know people who go pig shooting as well and it is the last thing i would ever think of doing, it is ridiculously uninteresting to me. I suppose it makes them feel tough and probably stops them killing people, i guess.....

Asians and Africans kill more of these animals way more than the rednecks you speak of. Asians and Africans are the reason many of the species are endangered!

Would like to see tough men use only their bodies against only their bodies.......now that is a gore video i would watch........

There is a show in the Aurora Channel called Hunting Aotearoa. It's bilingual (Maori) and features locals on quad bikes doing their style of hunting. They just let the pig dogs run amok and wait until they torture a boar by biting its nose ears and balls off. Then they rock up and cut it's throat. Great day out bro.

Nothing against feral pig culling, but not keen on the slow death thing.

Anyway talking about other shit. Have you people seen "Wild" starring Reese Witherspoon? I reckon it's the best film I have seen this year.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/wild_2014/

After the movie I looked at the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) that she hiked by herself. The real "Cheryl Strayed", not Reese. :) It is an incredible 4,286 km long. Further than Sydney to Perth!!!

Now that's an adventure. :thumb

Here is a 7 minute snapshot of the trail by some dude with a GoPro camera. Incredible!

I'm waiting for it to be released on Foxtel (not pay for view).

Coincidentally I recorded an Aussie movie called Tracks to watch this weekend.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2167266/

About a journey across the Simpson desert by a woman her camel and dogs !

It got 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Some of the Adam Goodes discussion on right wing radio today has been nothing short of embarrassing for this country.

Has anyone asked Jonesy about his closet homosexuality ? I mean directly? Not that it is even relevant.

In this case 'water closet homosexuality'?

No, Barry. Don't do any of the Balmain change room jokes.

The guy dumbfounds me. What did he describe some indigenous tenants as? 'Skunks'?

I wasn't even talking about him.
He is 1 person I flatly refuse to listen to. Period.
Chris Smith this afternoon, has been disgraceful.
I don't know who's worse. Him, or that merkin that shot the animals.

No idea why the conservatives are like this. After all they would not even bring themselves to say sorry to the stolen generation.

"I do not believe, as a matter of principle, that one generation can accept responsibility for the acts of an earlier generation. I don't accept that as a matter of principle," the former prime minister Howard said.
"In some cases, children were wrongly removed; in other cases, they were removed for good reason; in other cases, they were given up; and in other cases, the judgment on the removal is obscure or difficult to make."

Now there have been a group who may have inadvertently (benefit of the doubt) been racist. Good people say - shit so sorry - and immediately cease the offending behaviour.

These merkins seem to want to argue that it's his fault. WTF ?

So... Is it ever allowed to dislike a non-white person just on the basis that they're a merkin?

Or are you instantly labelled a racist?

And this will blow your mind, isn't that attitude a little racist in itself?

A lot of the discussion has been about the welfare of the 13 year old girl. WTF? She's the one that made the offending comment, and also, they refuse to say that Goodes was in contact with her afterwards, offering help and access to counselling, as well as giving her his personal mobile number for her to call him at any time.
What more can he have done?
He found the comment offensive. He called her out on it. He then did what he could to make sure she was assisted in any way possible, yet these numbnuts still blame him for what is occurring.
I just don't get it.

I don't, he has every right to be offended by that comment, and to take it as a racial slur.

That's the difficult nature of racism, racism isn't defined by intent, but by perception, You can use a term you don't mean as a racial but if the intended target takes it that way, it becomes racist, whether you intended it to or not.

I look forward to the day I can openly hate everyone, rather than hold my tongue lest I offend somebody. It'll be magical.
