I'm having a beer. I'm cooking dinner, which incidently includes a pork product not unlike bacon, so, close enough, and, I'm waiting for the b**/ (whoops) wife to get home from work to share a nice glass of wine with in front of the fire.

My take:

Goodes comes across a little contrived, self centred and petulant. I have no issues with any indigenous people. To be honest I don't identify any person as being Aboriginal or Polynesian etc. I admire their ability and embrace them. I especially respect Thurston, Inglis and even Sandow when he fired and when they performed their associated cultural dances I thought it was cool and I smiled. The Goodes example however is a little different. Aimed directly at the crowd in an aggressive manner which incited them. Funny how no other previous examples set by our own NRL indigenous players affected nobody negatively. With Goodes, some of the crowd didn't like it, they gave it to him, he can't take it, he pulls the race card and is ramming his view and allegations down their throats. Maybe some of the people in the crowd are also offended by being called racist when all they think is that he is a knob.

Which is what I think that basically he is.

Absolutely 👍👍👍👋👋👋 , basically the booing was about him as a person and against the team getting ongoing support from the AFL hierarchy. Can't believe they have all fallen for this ego tripping show pony

Players get booed and called names week in week out in all codes. They dont carry on like this prima donna and play the racist card.

Not knowing much about Goodes or this thing in general, the vague sense I do get from it all is it is, at least partially, another example of the left screaming "BIGOTRY!" and then expecting everyone to shut up and be guilted into accepting the moral superiority they are trying to enforce on society.

What I find astonishing is that a guy is getting booed cos he stood up for himself against racist taunts.

Now people are taking political sides and its the conservatives vs the left.

The guy is human and not making his feelings up. If you are offended cos I called you a name, then I stop and move on. Even if I didn't think that it had any genuine racial undertones in the first place.

I don't stand my ground and argue my right to call you what i like and tell you to harden up.

Adam Goodes needs the respect that he deserves.

The bullshit that Alan Jones and Andrew Bolt have spun about the 13yo girl is rubbish. They both say that he threw her under the bus. Not true. He handled it well and says below that she needs support in this matter. Not her fault, cos it's the culture that she lives in. Look at what he said the day after.
