Its all well and good to point out Barrett inherited a poor roster, but they've gone backwards despite it being a marginal improvement on paper. Pay at least had them fighting, looking short on quality but with a bit of grit to give their fans a shred of hope. Now they just look bad and soft. That's pretty much on Barrett. Manly had a soft underbelly under him too.
The consensus here was that he contributed to our improvement, particularly in attack. He's strikes me as one of those guys with strengths in specific areas (ie, working with halves). He was a very good player and that counts for something. But he looks completely unable to build, inspire and motivate a group of blokes to give everything for their jersey. For all his faults, Kevvie certainly seemed to do that on Thursday night. The Dogs are miles away from a performance like that.
