I said in an earlier post there was just something about him that made it hard for me to like. I've worked it out now he's a complete brainless d'head. If the rumours true about offering him 2.4 mil the club should pull it off the table.

St George Illawarra have made an audacious bid for off-contract Parramatta star Corey Norman.

The Dragons have tabled the 25-year-old a three-year deal worth $2.4 million — $200,000 more than what the Eels are offering.

Off-contract at the end of the year, Norman is yet to re-sign with the Eels, while the Dragons are looking for a replacement for Benji Marshall who is unlikely to be retained by the club.

I believe he is far and away the best halves talent available for next season and current dramas aside and pending the outcomes I think it is incumbent upon the dragons management to go after him if we can afford to do so

I think Thompson is literally the utility (similar to what keary was going to be), i.e. off the bench, some hooker, some impact..

I hope we snag Norman, I think hes the real deal.. I mean maybe hes just having a good year.. but I see a lot more in him than I do in Keary, Hastings etc..

Norman is a far better option than anyone else we could sign.. Keary & Hastings for example.. the guy has genuine heart.. hes carrying a team, he plays whats in front of him.. puts his body on the line in defence too.. actually a lot of the attributes Widdop had pre-injury perhaps.. def hope we can snag him..

As for Parra, perhaps Hayne could playin the halves, but I dont see how they could let Foran AND Norman go..

I agree with what you say, people are entitled to a private life whatever their style might be as long as it is not hurting anyone, I just want to be entertained for 80 minutes with a good rugby league team.

Is the Ray Thompson deal confirmed? I've not been following it.

Thompson will be a massive upgrade on McCrone. Watched him closely last night and was reasonably impressed how he directed the Cowboys around the field and let Coote run the ball.

While he is overpriced maybe Dugan and Packer could reform him. He will be a hit or miss purchase. Doust would definitely have a full-time job and Ricky Walford and Anthony Mundine would be able to assist in his rehabilitation. The Club will have to buy a good supply of brown paper bags.
