If we are looking for a half please look at Faum'Brown from Cronulla he looks to have come back well and would welcome a starting spot.Looks well ahead of what we have got.
Cronulla as much as I hate to say seem a well coached and quality team.A real contender for the premiership.

Watched him today, he's a very capable half. Tackles well and takes on the line and has an astute kicking game. He also played against the Cutters last week for the Jets, scored all their points (I think) inc 2 tries and some goals (so he can kick goals as well).
He's contracted until the end of 2017, but looks like he'd be stuck behind Townsend and Maloney. So a permanent 1st grade spot may tempt him.

Actually, he's just 1 of a few young halves, on or coming on the market. If we have absolutely no young prospect then our recruitment should be looking at the likes of Brown and Hingano (to name a few) who could develop and stay with the club for many years.

Honestly why would you care about secret payments to a gun footballer ? and i am not being a smart ass either but who cares mate he is to hurting anyone and do you think Thurston Inglis Foran Milford and lots more dont get back handers ? Mate i want my club with the best players so that we can win football games and i do not care about what they do apart from bashing Girls or killing someone they are not going to marry my sister or anything like that. Anyway i know its only your opinion and like i said i am not being a smart ass but just wondering.
Spot on, I dont know how the rort has gone on as long as it has.. look at the squads we compete against, tonnes of them outbid Saints to sign players 'at their peak' and many of them end up on the bench or played out of position, such as BMoz, Holmes, JBird.. all bought on fullback dollars and played wing/ctr, and ppl forget eventually as they just keep buying more stars the next year... meanwhile.. we cant even sign quality for our starting 13.

This must be up there with the least intelligent thing I have read on this forum. The brown paper bag cash is part of the cheating that has destroyed the game at present. This is foul play and players should have the integrity not accept these payments. Nor should the NRL allow this to go on. It can be policed with more thorough checks. Teams like ours will continue to compete for 8th place so long as GREED is able to permeate our game.

Mate if that's a genuine deal breaker we would struggle to find enough players to fill a top 25 squad.

That's complete crap. And before someone conveniently brings up Packer (very serious criminal past) or Dugan (minor immaturity), both of those signings were past the times of their indiscretions and after commitments to rehabilitation.
In the case of Norman, its clear he is a very shady character and to "allegedly" actively participate in salary cap rorting makes him completely dishonourable. You don't needs cheats or low lives to create a successful football team.

Actually I wasn't referring to Packer at all, rather the many NRL players who enjoy the company of 1% MC members and other underworld figures. Perks of the fame I guess. Even one of our 2010 Premiership heroes calls a very well known stand over man his best mate.

You hit the nail on the head , 77 , with the last sentence , there are far better ways . I Have never agreed with the adage " if we can't beat them - let's join them " . I would not have much joy at the Dragons holding the Grand - Final trophy aloft with the knowledge that instead of competing we had been cheating.

Don't forget the cheap houses from one Queensland team that seems to be common knowledge

Least intelligent or not it is the real world, even i do not like it but like most things out there in the big bad world money talks. If someone is rich with plenty of cash wants to give players money which they do then you and i can not stop it. You go tell woolworths or coles or shell or even a real estate agent about cheating the system and rooting everyone for $$ and what integrity have they got ? The world is not always what you want it to be. Give me a Nick Politis any day of the week if it was for my Dragons to kick ass.

Parra got caught, the rest go on cheating (basically except us).. no matter how you feel about the ethics of it.

I agree that its outrageous that the NRL turn a blind eye (they do this so they dont upset the rich clubs, or get exposed for league wide cheating which would do huge damage to their brand), but our " by the book" approach is digging us into a very deep ditch, to the point we might not even have a club to support if we cant turn it around.

That is just the problem, the NRL does put up with it .Why ,there is no doubting that they have a very good idea who the culprits are , but, they may have a few skeletons in their own closets , ( Clubs that they themselves had been responsible for Third Party deals ) so the last thing that they want is a full blown investigation into Third Party deals as it would be a little bit too close to home .

Well I never had any idea the problem was this bad. A few on here speak as if it is a given. What inside info do you all have that the rest of us don't. It can't be that widespread and why would only Parra be caught out? If we had a Hasler/Bennett/Bellamy type coach we'd have better players and better income in turn. I can't imagine every club but us is stupid enough to take such risks. Seems a bit simplistic to say our failures are based on our failing to cheat the system.

So sad. I knew money was the death of loyalty in league but I thought the Bulldogs/Storm/Eels were the exception - maybe that's just what I want to believe.

It is possible for the Eels to make the 8. Imagine if they win the premiership. Todd Greenburg would be looking for a new job.

Not for long , he would have job offers the Bulldogs/Storm and Eels or at the very least Christmas cards .

There are already good young halves at the club to be developed and would happily be the backbone of the club for years! And as someone pointed out they lapped the Jets a few weeks ago! Look in our own backyard!

Gallop had it as even as it ever has been but the rich clubs got rid of him. 2010 we had to lose players because that is what the salary cap did but now the best team or teams just keep on getting better.

A bit like Melbourne.. it just takes 1 silly mistake or a whistle-blower, even Paul Kent has said that the player managers have told him openly how its done, but they are very blase because they know nothing can be proven... Parra however .. went and took audio recordings of their dodgy board meetings.. which made it very easy to unravel, stupid stuff!

You can imagine any other club in the NRL would instantly have nuked any documentation they had lieing around thanks to the headsup from this scandal too.

Also follow the history.. originally it was the Roosters, Dogs & Broncos who were somehow fielding teams of dreams (Dogs have been caught before also), but look at other sides like Cronulla, Canberra, Penrith etc.. suddenly these struggling clubs are paying for star player after star player on top coin.. there is virtually no other clubs left apart from us still battling with fringe first graders.

His contract price will be dropping & clubs might wait to snap up a bargain, even thought he'll most likely have very strict conditions with his court case pending. He mightn't have done anything wrong, but it is another black mark on his image when clubs are under the microscope in this area. I hope he can sort out his off-field issues wherever he ends up playing. I think a change of club would be best, but if Hayne re-joins the Eels maybe he can use his experience to help him.

PARRAMATTA Eels player Corey Norman is reportedly at the centre of an extortion attempt following his involvement in a sex tape.

On Monday evening Channel Seven reported footage was being shopped around to media outlets with an asking price of $150,000, while the network also claimed the video had been offered for sale to Norman’s manager to have it taken off the market.

One video allegedly shows drugs appearing to be consumed, but there is no suggestion the Eels five-eighth was himself taking drugs or doing anything illegal

Seven league reporter Liam Cox described another video in question as “graphic” and “explicit”, and said Norman can be seen in a room with a naked woman and former Penrith hooker James Segeyaro. Nothing illegal was happening in this video, though Cox referred to it as “embarrassing and distasteful”.

According to the network, the NRL Integrity Unit has asked the Eels to investigate the incident.

heard parra are finding it a bit hard to fit cory norman under the cap and that the dragons are going after him pretty hard..stay tuned..hope we get him..was on mmm rush hour show reedys mail[/
As I said before Norman is a wonderful player, he has carried parra the whole season even without Foran. We should do our best to get him as he is the best player on the market this season

Fonua Brown from the Sharks is the player that they should be chasing!
