again, theres evidence that investing in a sports awareness, participation and accessability increases participation and interest in that sport. What makes you think it wont make any difference?
So you're happy about the Las Vegas project?
Coverage across America on Fox Sports 1. Promotional work that involved The Rock and local news media running segments on the game.
Nah, you ridiculed that because it didn't place Perth at the centre of the rugby league pyramid.
Ive never said that at all.
what Ive said is that the ARLC has a mandate to grow the game, and that mandate is a national one, it doesnt stop at the NSW and Qlnd border.
They provide an absolute pittance to NRLSA, barely enough to keep an office. What I am advocating is it needs to be much more to meet their mandate. Preferential treatment? Lol, the NRL spends around $80mill on grassroots and states, SA gets $500k if that ffs. Id hardly say doubling that is preferential!
Why should NRLSA's funding be doubled?
The reason the QRL and NSWRL receive so much funding is because the bulk of the game's players and active supporter base is from Queensland and NSW.
Adelaide has 2,500 players concentrated in a small metropolitan area. Queensland has 68,000 players spread out across an entire state. It costs a lot more to run several high standard state wide and local competitions at school, university, junior and senior level across an area as vast as Queensland than it does to organise a few Adelaide pub teams to play on a rugby union or soccer field.
What do you propose the NRLSA do with the extra $500k you believe it should be given?
Again though I find it incredibly strange that a Rl fan does not want to see the game grow in other places? Its very weird. I know Qlnders have a reputation but geez this is well out there.
Yet you're happy for Hull's 260k people to have 2 tiny teams while much larger and affluent cities in the UK and Ireland have none?
You're also happy to punt the Wolfpack, despite their crowds in the second division being almost as big as Hull KR in Super League?
