Not sold on the Bulldogs yet.....

Acknowledging the chance that I will look as geniused as BulldogForce, I will say I am not sold either.

I imagine it being a similar thing to 2012.

When it got to the GF, Storms spine really showed how weak Dogs' were. It was like children v men.

They're in the same position as Souths - except Dogs can actually win tight games.

This thread was started as a tribute to the legendary contributor,
Bulldog Force...

His abscence is unnerving, thought he would be revelling in the Dogs success so far this season.

Must be on a picnic with Cammo

One thing counting against the Bulldogs at the moment is that they have had a pretty easy draw for the first 10 rounds. So far, they have only played 1 top 4 team, losing to the Panthers, and the only other top 8 team they have played is the Storm. That leaves 8 games against teams 9-16. Yes, they have been good enough to beat the teams they have played, but how will they go for the remainder of the year?

If you were to average the current positions of opponents, you would have:
Bulldogs: 10.6
Manly: 9.2
Panthers: 10.0
Eels: 9.1
Storm: 7.8
Wests: 8.8

The Storm have had the hardest draw so far of the top 6 teams, having played 4 games against current top 4 teams.

2012? They won the minor premiership. The GF was a different story - Melbourne Storm wanted it more after what happened to them in 2010 - they were hungry.

Graham seemed very hungry on GF day, in fact I would say he was that hungry he would bite into anything.......

If Billy Slater didn't go sliding into Perretts side abdomen, that wouldn't have happened. Not justifying it, but Billy Slater sliding in was what led to that scuffle.

Manly are better.

And I think a fully fit Souffs would towel them up as well come finals time. They match up very well.

They're definitely the May Premiers but I don't see them being good enough to win the comp.

There is definitely one thing about the Bulldogs of 2014 that can't be denied. F*ck me dead they are horribly boring to watch. They make me want to watch replays of 2010 Dragons games.

Really? Many people would think those 1-point thrillers, and yesterdays game against the Warriors (refer to Josh Morris' try-saver and Warriors rally towards the end of the game) have been pretty exciting.

Keep in mind, Rugby League is a two-way street, don't blame the Bulldogs on the way the game is played.

Each to their own!

Haters will find any reason to discredit the bulldogs.
"oh it's still round 10"
"oh they've vs'd teams outside the 8"
"they've vs'd teams with injuries"
"they play a boring style of football"
"they rely on their forwards too much"
"they're grubby"
"everyone is out of form"

The list goes on.

I'd be sold on the Bulldogs if it wasn't for the fact this competition is so close and pretty unpredictable. Playing so well against the Roosters but only just got away against us? Makes it hard to give a definitive answer and back them to at least get across the tape first.

Could easily fall apart and lose a string of games, but you can say the same about 15 other teams this season.

Close games yes, exciting football no. Great defence and great scramble. But having the most uncreative spine in NRL history doesn't bode well for scoring points.

From the outset, this is not a Dog hate thread. Just putting in my 2cts worth

Although the Dogs are a gritty team who have done extremely well this season I don't believe they are good enough to win the comp.

Their backline only has one player that would get a start at Manly or The Roosters and that is Josh Morris.

While the Forward pack is slow and lacks the brutality that the great dogs packs of the past had.

T Rex is 600k of prime beef ready for the slaughter house and offers little in attack or defence.

While Ennis although better this year is still too slow and one dimensional, more like a hooker from the 80's than today.

In summary a solid team but lacks the necessary class to go all the way.

Time to bring this thread back, unlike a similar thread started by Bulldog Force concerning the Roosters I can't imagine that the Dogs are a realistic chance of winning the comp.

They'll be lucky to win another game at this point.

Time to face the music boys... Hasler and his McDonald's super size forward theory has failed for the second year now and must fall on his sword.

The dogs have been the biggest loser this season such a disappointment.

Time to bring back real bulldog men to lead the renaissance, I suggest a coaching partnership of Lamb and Dymock..

Hasler must be under extreme pressure to hold his position.

Where are the bulldog faithful?

Do they believe the dogs still have a chance?

Dogslife, Cammo, packy, Bulldog Force....etc any comments.

Your silence is deafening!
