ASTRA's report is great if your sport is in the top 10 pay tv sports broadcasts, but useless for everyone else.

We used to have much more reliable consolidated data sources from ThinkTV and RegionalTAM as well as the ASTRA reports, we dont get those now for some reason. Using preliminary overnights might not be 100% accurate but at least this way we get some good data for everyone.

For lower rating sports like soccer and everyones multi channel ratings we are almost entirely reliant on the overnights put out by Mediaweek or we'd have no data at all.

The Parramatta v Manly NRL game failed to crack the top 20 on fta sunday and was under 260k

Fox got 215k

Although we are all loving seeing ch 9 die a slow death with RL.. we are kind of cutting off our nose here...

If the FTA rights are losing their value we will either see all RL on fox only, (look at rugby)

Or the next rights deal no simulcast.. which would be the end of fox league

Thurs and Fri night is ch9's rating games. The casual RL fans that watch them are out and about

We need a strong FTA coverage to move forward as a sport Ch9 and NRL both know that

The Sunday game often gets around 400k. Thurs and Fri rate 1m plus

Fairly accurate site. Sunday ratings are missing which would be around the 400k mark, puts the round1 ratings at basically the same as last years rnd 1.

Sunday NRL ratings werent released by Mediaweek, and didnt make the oztam top 20 for Sunday.

Average Sunday FTA ratings for the NRL in 2016 were 586,000 including regionals.
