Someone shoot Cam Smith and Tallis

Think 07 and 09 storm titles all ok and they deserved the wins

I only just watched this yesterday because I wanted to see what the panel said.
I couldn't believe that the only one on there I agreed with was Rothfield (which happens very rarely).
The lack of outragre over this is disgraceful, and the amount of commentators, reporters and ex-players (and even current players like Mitch Moses) who seem to be all fine with Melbourne telling the NRL "f**k off, we are keeping these premierships and there's nothing you can do about it" is unbelievable.

PVL likes to pretend he's a big man who has the balls to do shit others wouldn't...if I was him I'd be handing down a massive fine to the Storm and threten them with loss of competition points if this happens again in the future (which I'm sure would get taken to court, but who gives a f**k).

If this isn't bringing the game into disrepute, then what is?
It's basically telling clubs that they can cheat the cap, win, have their titles stripped...but it's cool though because in a few years everyone will be over it and you can have them back.

It's become such a nothing deal that there isn't even a thread in the main NRL forum about it, and there's bullshit threads in there about the most random stuff.

I didn't like it at all... but I read somewhere that Storm had fake replica trophies of '07 and '09 done, for their cheesy presentations re-enactment? I'm not sure there's much the NRL or PVL can do if Storm choose to engage in some amateur theatrics with unofficial paper mache props (or equivalent) as part of their pre-match entertainment.

Also, it's in the past and very few merkins give a shit. As soon as a season finishes every merkin is looking to the next one.

They can have their fake trophies and put them in a cabinet at their administration offices.
Parading them around in front of a crowd at an official NRL event is different, and the NRL can definitely reprimand them for it.

Nah, that's bullshit.
Fans and teams are always living in the past. FFS, the Eels have no other option and are always talking about the glory days of the '80s.

At the very least the NRL should be trying to discourage teams from cheating in the future (lol as if).

The fans do anyway, and this is where the disconnect comes from. The players and probably most club officials are focused on the present first, the future second, and the past not at all, except maybe after the player has retired. This is why they wheel the old merkins out on variations of 'old boys day'. After that they can get back in their box until next year. "We're trying to run a professional organisation ffs!"

Yup

The irony of also playing one of their GF opponents that night (quite a few parra fans had to sit through that disrespectful shit)

LU has its own language. One that at times I dont even understand.

I assume Ken Succliffe is interviewing John Hopoate?

I believe it's Jake Duke interviewing J'Maine Hopgood.

I can't believe I just had to type the name 'J'Maine'. f**k that's a dumb name.

i get so much joy listening to Guru, Timmy and Denan on bloke in a bar, try and understand BAs bench rotations ahahhaha

If you want proper weekly analysis give ‘The Fifth and Last’ poddy a go. Two brothers who were both junior rep players got injured and then have gone into coaching, very insightful view on Footy and still entertaining.

They break it down and don’t spit out the same old shit you get from Fox/News Corp.

Kempy and The Bloke team are great but Kemp especially can go round in circles and waffle on too much.

I'm waiting for Pou's weekly podcast...
He already started recording the first episode... back in March 2022 and hasn't finished it yet . Episode 1 is titled "Whatever happens, Parra did the right thing" and he breaks down all the good decisions the club have made in the last 15 years... At this rate, a weekly episode looks unlikely....
