If you were innocent, and were given the choice to tick a box, and be suspended for three games, or don't tick the box, and pay half a million dollars and endure a long legal battle to prove your innocence, which would you choose? Most players are probably just sick of having to deal with the ASADA issue and just want to move on.

This. No judgement of innocent or guilty, but he took the path of least resistance. I hope the truth comes out but fear it won't. Think the decision to ban them from awards this year is right, but if there is no more conclusive proof, the stain on their reputations forever is enough.

If they knew what they were taking, if they were lied to, if they were ignorant or dumb or compliant I guess we will never know unless asada goes after the club and coaching staff or the players sue the club then it might come out what really happened.

If you were charged with a criminal offence that you did not commit would you take a plea for a lesser charge just to end the issue, leaving you with a criminal record and its consequences? Or would you fight like hell to clear your name and prove your innocence?
If you knew you had done the crime you would jump at the chance and sign off, but if you were innocent, why would you sign?
It is no different with these players. They are all now officially self confessed drug cheats, and no amount of innuendo and speculation can change this. The evidence that was presented to them must have been conclusive to cause the rapid sign off by them all. Remember, that even those with the most to lose, Paul Gallen and Matthew Wright, signed of very quickly after meeting with ASADA and their own lawyers.

He has not only let the code down with his actions, lets not forget his past, and just like Carney he has continued to disgrace the code.
On top of that he has let his club Cronulla down big time,.
He was more interested in playing origin because of the money than helping Cronulla, he is the most selfish player outside Falou and Hunt i have ever seen.

In the other thread there has been examples posted of ASADAs balls up in regards to this with a number of athletes over the last two years. All received 12month bans, all backdated due to ASADAs lack of expedience in issuing notices. They didn't hand out three week bans. They handed out 12 month bans backdated to November. It is ridiculous and makes them look totally incompetent but it has happened in athletics, now the NRL and no doubt AFL will be the next backdated ban farce. ASADA need a massive rocket and restructure to get them into shape to be the organisation Australian sport needs them to be.

This one is a just one of their stuff ups recently, note the backdated ban. This guy got two years and only served 3 months due to their shockingly poor performance!
