Grants fast out of dummy half because their forwards get quick play the balls. They're quick to their knees and quick to get up and play it. If they are a bit slower, like Brandon Smith, they crawl forward to take the markers out of play. They do the opposite in defence, slowing them down by putting them on their back, or turning them around, and then peel off one at a time. They win nearly all the rucks, and that makes it easier for their backs to run amok.

In other words, they are well-coached and well-drilled.

Anyone that thinks things are going to get better for the Dragons is mistaken. Recruitment is sub standard, promotion of young talent is minimal. Coaching resides in the dark ages. Managing of the club ha been stagnant for years. The top clubs are light years ahead of the struggling clubs. The mess that currently prevails will take years to remedy. Unfortunately the only route possible is a major cleanout, but that is not probable.

I get what you are saying, but on the other hand, no team should earn the right to break the rules. The rules should be applied to all teams evenly. And more importantly, they should be applied all the time, not when the NRL and refs choose to.
Agree It was sarcasm .....

Ideally, yes. Todd Payten was right when he said refs and the bunker subconsciously favour the better teams. Ironically, the cows now get more than their share of favourable calls because they're one of the better teams.

And not a word from Todd now. I'd like to hear a coach when they win because of a dodgy decision to say "the ref made a wrong call and the opposition should have won the game" , not the rubbish that " it evens out over the season" or "swings and roundabouts". It would not be "swings and roundabouts" if you lose a GF because of dodgy ref calls.

Yeah I know. and yes, I wish it was us doing those things as well as they do it.

But it still irks me that they win most of their games because of their wrestle in the play the ball. What does their training look like I wonder? Wearing tights on wrestling mats??
Maybe they wear tights, but this is how I imagine a storm training session.
-Cheese is off the top rope with the flying elbow.
-Munster puts people in the figure-4-leglock.
-Kafausi uses the sharp-shooter.
-NAS uses the choke slam.
-Papenhuyzen is adept at the huricanna.
-Welsh uses the pile-driver.
-Hughes just uses the low blow.

No one uses the rock bottom or people's elbow because these are class moves, and obviously not in keeping with the storm.
