Wow, the Storm hitting 60 without Paps and Welch and Reimis Smith. Not bad!
Hang on, cowboys and sharks didn’t even play finals last year? In fact, the cows finished bottom 4.This weekends results so far has shown the huge gap between the favoured teams and the also rans. When is the NRL going to do something to level the playing field? Or will the top teams stay there for years continually playing finals and the rest making up the numbers with little relief in sight? The current system is a nightmare for all but the favoured teams!
The exceptions, not the rule! Decorations around the edges - neither will win the comp (I hope, or my theory is out the window).Hang on, cowboys and sharks didn’t even play finals last year? In fact, the cows finished bottom 4.
There should just be 12 teams in the comp. Several of the clubs should merge. Like us with the Sharks and have Fitzy as our coach. Hahaha! It is just a complete joke having a 17th team and then 18 in a few years time. The current top teams will continue on their merry way each year beating the poorer teams. The salary cap just doesn't work.Take the Roosters / Tigers game. Both teams have the same salary cap. Look at the players the Roosters can fit under the same salary cap compared to the players the Tigers have for the same salary cap. I'm not sure what the answer is, but the current system is NOT working!
More V'Landys Ball results are in...Anyone else enjoying the tight contests this round?
Yes, we are on the wrong side of it, but it would still appear footy is broken.

Terrible. Again I say don't play rounds 24 and 25. Just play the bloody finals and get it over with. Not liking this game one bit anymore. Of course if you were fans of the Storm, Roosters, Sharks, Cowboys, Eels whoopey doo. How would you be feeling if you followed the poor losers this weekend. Bunnies can hold their head up but the others, wow, where to next?Last 5 games 262-34 ave 52-7
Agree entirely, the salary cap has too many holes in it. The imbalance in the competition is patently obvious, scores of 60 and 70 points underline this. Adding more teams is not going to work but will end up weakening first grade even further. There should just be 12 teams in the comp. Several of the clubs should merge. 72-6 what a terrible thing for league.
I'm giving up folks.
If we won 72-6 ( I know this is pure fantasy, but bear with me ) would it be a terrible thing for league? There should just be 12 teams in the comp. Several of the clubs should merge. The problem with our team is they turn up for half a game only , they are too old and too slow ...... but yes anything can happen ..... Just off this for a sec I hear on fox that nobody can win the comp from the bottom 8 ..... Well as you say it's there for history to be made ...... Never say never .....If we won 72-6 ( I know this is pure fantasy, but bear with me ) would it be a terrible thing for league?
I, for one, would be ####ing delighted!
I think we just have our noses out of joint cos it isn't us that is doing the towelling-up. Kindly remember that Parra dusted up Brisbane 58-0 in a semi-final in 2019. And we touched them up in 2018. That isn't an example of haves v have-nots. That's a case of one team not turning up - and it can happen to any side, any time.
It would just be nice to see a more competitive competition mind you there are a handful of clubs that are an honest chance of holding the trophy aloft. There's a huge gap there between the top and the bottom. I see the Bulldogs scrambling to fight their way back to the bright side as did the Sharks and Cowboys this year. I don't see much from the other also-ran clubs to get back in the mix. It feels to steep a mountain when certain coaches have monopolised things. If we won 72-6 ( I know this is pure fantasy, but bear with me ) would it be a terrible thing for league?

That is 100% right NOTB. I would gleefully be rubbing my hands if it were us that won 72-6. It could have been the other way around, unlikely I know, but if the Roosters thought that the Tigers were easy beats and let their guard drop and the Tigers sniff that out and put in their best game, yes it could have been different. Same as all the other big scoring games yesterday. If we won 72-6 ( I know this is pure fantasy, but bear with me ) would it be a terrible thing for league?

The Cowboys nearly did it. I think the Roosters have a great chance. The problem with our team is they turn up for half a game only , they are too old and too slow ...... but yes anything can happen .....
