Surely we can discuss the identity of the ex-player? They're not accused of anything.

Even if it has no legal ramifications it would have personal ramifications. If it is his daughter, it would be pretty tough thing to cop, if it isn't the false accusations would be just as bad. I dont see how openly discussing it here would help. I feel bad for him and his daughter either way.

I'm not going to name the person here, as I don't think it's a very healthy situation for the family and discussion here unhelpful.
However, 2GB just mentioned the person in question on their news.

I think worse than that.
Napa was the victim (so to speak) as others released the video of him.

May is allegedly the one who has released the videos.

I agree with you, but Greenberg has already warned us he is going to be inconsistent. He has really painted himself into a corner with his tough guy posturing.

These deleted posts are a bit pedantic, the person in question has publicly stated that he's looking at legal options on behalf of his daughter. No reason why it can't be spoken about.

Does filming and circulating videos of sexual acts carry a sentence if greater than 11 years?

Asking for a friend.

So much for all the deluded Panthers fans saying it was just innocent, consensual fun. Blown if I know how they were to come to such a conclusion unless they knew the people involved.

I can’t see how charges for disseminating the videos can be laid without the women in the tapes making complaints.

Police have been told that while the sexual acts were consensual, the women were unaware they were being filmed.

These recordings were also allegedly disseminated without their consent.

Over the past few days, the women became aware the existence of the videos and contacted police.

Following inquiries, about 9am today (Tuesday 5 March 2019), a 22-year-old man presented at Penrith Police Station where he was arrested.

He has now been charged with two counts of recording intimate image without consent, and two counts of disseminate image without consent.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Penrith Local Court on Wednesday 1 May 2019.

So NSW police have charged a player for the crime of discrimination, the NRL just fined a player for being the victim of such a crime.

Strange times.
