News NRL leaked video scandals: Napa, May, Lane

Police have been told that while the sexual acts were consensual, the women were unaware they were being filmed.

These recordings were also allegedly disseminated without their consent.

Over the past few days, the women became aware the existence of the videos and contacted police.

Following inquiries, about 9am today (Tuesday 5 March 2019), a 22-year-old man presented at Penrith Police Station where he was arrested.

He has now been charged with two counts of recording intimate image without consent, and two counts of disseminate image without consent.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Penrith Local Court on Wednesday 1 May 2019.

There is no way you could not know in one of them.

"knowing" you are being filmed is different to consenting to being filmed. It is entirely possible that he just whipped out his phone during the act, also that she asked him to delete it. We would never know but I dont think that it is possible to judge "consent" from the fact that she is looking at the camera.

Hopefully with these cases and any others in the future, it will make these millenials wake up to themselves. Social media and young people have created this monster where recording anything and big noting/ doing things to big note is an epidemic.

Something has come of it already, two women have gone to the police and stated that they did not consent to being filmed and the dissemination of the video. Two women's lives have been pretty significantly impacted and he held the camera that resulted in that damage. Even if the charges are dropped or he was found not guilty in court, it is ridiculous and cold hearted to suggest nothing has come of this situation.
