Interesting story going round with all Goulds praise for him over the last year, and it pointing towards Galvin ending up at the Bulldogs. Nice wee media platform Gus has to use to his advantage

How many coaches have you actually seen introduce an 18yo though, when they have more experienced options they could have rolled out and played safe in their first year coaching with an average squad, remember as well Parramatta didn’t think enough of him as a junior to keep him at the club

There is nothing to judge Benjis coaching on one way or the other so far, Wayne Bennett’s judgement is he will be very good. Certainly wasn’t anything to judge him on when Galvin first started wanting out after 4 first grade games
Re introducing an 18yo the one that springs to my mind was Gould with Fittler…. He had Izzard and Bentley as experienced options. Obviously there was a luxury of bringing him in a centre rather than 5/8 where Carter was, but centre was no doddle either …. But that seems to be the talent level we’re talking about with this kid.

He’s a kid…
Yea I understand that and I know I’m being pretty harsh and that he may well grow up to be a properly decent person.

But the behaviour we’re seeing now is what we have to go by and while he might be a kid in sporting terms, he’s an adult by most other measures in the real world.

And unfortunately, he’s also managed by someone who has a track record of screwing clubs over.

Which is great from a player perspective, the guy clearly prioritises his clients over everything else which is perfectly understandable. But that’s not what I want for our club.

I’m totally for players being looked after and treated fairly but I want our club to be treated fairly too, and respected. And what we’ve seen from him and his camp suggests that’s a massive risk for anyone who takes him on.

Put him on 'gardening leave' until his current contract expires. Don't release him. Lets see how he develops then.
Latest reports have senior players wanting Latu Fainu into the side, Pole liked a social media post that slammed Galvin, and Galvin also has a problem with Luai and having to play 2nd fiddle with him which is part of the problem and Benji is too close to him. Luai has won more Premierships, Origins and tests than this young fella has won games. He is getting sole extremely poor advice early in his career

Tigers fans finally get a bit of hope at the start of the year and now have this chucked at them

So many things wrong here - as we know that management group has form, young kid getting bad advice, Benji certainly not a conventional coach (for want of better phrasing), and the Tigpies just generally a clusterf**k

Agree that Luai is the guy, he's earned that - but if Galvin was the future (he should have been) why sign a similar style of half...

The vindictive side of me would love nothing more.

But reality is there’s probably no way of doing that without his inevitable sulking leaking into the rest of the club, or his agent stirring enough shit to be troublesome elsewhere. Dunno who else he manages but he seems to have fingers everywhere.

Which leaves an eventual release in exchange for big dollars or a big name the more likely outcome.

If Parra really is the front runner - and I read somewhere that Galvin ‘liked’ a post from a Parra fan urging him to sign - the Tigers should try get Penisini or someone like that in return.

I guess time will tell but I honestly don't see any massive talent gap between Fainu and Galvin yet anyway. Fainu has impressed me whenever I've seen him.

Fainu was huge coming through the grades, every club in the NRL wanted him as the next big thing

Remember 2013 or so with the ‘next Andrew Johns’ coming through called Luke Brooks, big money way too early hurt him. Ash Taylor at the Broncos was going to be the QLD halfback for a decade. Hope Galvin has a strong head on him because his manager is setting him up for a mountain of pressure

Apparently he is a happy go lucky kid, and doesn’t do any extras at all. Luai is the first there and last to leave

What a couple of months

Dylan Browns get the heat taken off him by DCE
DCE gets the heat taken off him marginally by Leniu/Thurston
Then Galvin comes along and puts all those out the back. What’s next ?

Conspiracy time, going to be lots of these flying around lol, just heard this one

Manly low ball DCE knowing he won’t sign it
Isaac Moses manages Seibold
Galvin replaces DCE

In other news, now that Gallen has retired from boxing for a couple of years, SBW will finally fight him. SBW refusing to do 3min rounds so Gallen has given in and it will be 2mins. Contract about to be signed. I won’t pay to watch it at all though

James Phelps said that last night on Kenty blitz. I was not at all surprised. Watching the Tigers doco on their pre-season army camp, he was a bare minimum type of person. Tallyn de Silva on the other hand showed real leadership.

That’s an interesting one…

Would you be happy taking him under those circumstances Beav? If it’s all one big chess move by Moses?

You probably always want a kid of his talent, he hasn’t broken any laws, but I’d be extremely wary of signing him and especially with who his manager is, there are many red flags but you take the punt if you’re a desperate club. Sign him long term, sack Seibold and then all hell breaks loose with Moses in the background.

I never really warmed to AFB and Walker at Manly, and he’d probably be another one in that mould. Foran I was really off, but he won me back over when he came back and put in

Yea lots of red flags. I honestly hope we stay out of it ourselves, but with the cap space we have and with Webster also being on Moses’ books, we could end up being a pawn in this whole saga as well.
