I’ll claim 3/3 on the tipping before this one ends to make me 3/4

Will be some players and coaches getting nervous about the state of this field for tomorrow, not even halfway through yet and the field looks awful
Turning into retro round, a field like the 80s - caked in mud. No problem with that once in a while!

Great round of footy so far, credit to the NRL and the referees for realising they were getting it horribly wrong with the high contact bins, and improving the product by using sensibility with it.

My favourite moment was the moments before halftime in the Drags game. King Clinton makes a big 40-20 save and a challenge, the Dragons should score but Su'a drops it over the line, and Bhula goes the length for a 12-point turnaround. That shit would have killed as a Drags fan, just as Pompey's intercept would have for the Cows

Those 15-man teams back in the day made for some late fatigue but you knew where you stood. Today - and it's been around for yonks now - the unlimited interchange still results in late fatigue!

The idea behind the change was what? Player safety, speed the game up? I think it works for the better. Those 15-man teams had to do a day job during the week also.

RIP Bob Jones. Controversial but, to me, he was brilliant as TVNZ's boxing analyst. He did some historic fights, including Hagler v Leonard (with Grant Nisbett) and Leonard v Hearns II (with Brendan Telfer).

My brother and I still use their comments as general quotes to this day!

During Hagler/Leonard (when Sugar had it won):

Nisbett: well Bob, amazing's the word!
Jones: it certainly is!

You need the intonation to fully appreciate the resonance.

Canterbury roll the GC 38-18. Dessie's Tits are in trouble.

Good start by the Broncos, Reynolds bomb is grabbed by Hunt to score under the sticks. He out lept none other but Cleary and Edwards. Those two superstars looked bloody awful.

20-8, Panthers. Halftime. Cleary has found some old grand final form, especially with that try.

It's hard to believe Ezra Mam is back next week. Nine-match ban? I suppose that's enough, when I think about it. But his six-month driving ban wasn't nearly enough.

100%

I don’t think Penrith will win 5 in a row, but they can still make the 8 and scare the bejesus out of other teams

I still can’t see Penrith getting there, simply because even after this I think they have to win 10/15 to do it, and I just don’t see it through the Origin period, will be a nice test for Ivan though who has refused to play his troops after Origin for years now

Probably no better example of how weird the year is, is looking at the ladder and seeing 2nd have a 0 points differential

He should have got 12. 8 weeks for Leniu's racist remark and one more - no coincidence at all - for Mam doing what he did, was a joke and remains so.

Hunt is going absolutely horrifically so I can see a world in which they send Mam straight back in. I don't think Maguire will, but it would make that side better. Hunt to 9 (Billy Walters ain't much chop either) and Mam back in.

Gee, there's one more game, I'd almost forgot.

It's good too, Storm are up 14-12. Nineteen minutes left.

Bucketing down in Brisbane again. Gee, the Aussie East Coast gets some wet weather these days.

18-12, Storm. A few minutes left...but Canberra's at the wrong end of a muddy field...suburb finish though. A chip over Pap's head and they score...18-all. Golden point.

Canberra win! A soft high shot with 30 seconds left gave Canberra a penalty in front. 20-18, final.

Farewell Magic Round.

Shit the officials run to extremes lol

That dog in the 13 for the Storm should be leaving the park every day of the week, he lined up the player on the ground and deliberately elbowed him in the head, no accident involved at all
