Not for profit just means you hijack the board give all contracts to businesses you own while paying yourself a huge wage.

Keep a small surplus after that to show you've done something.

Still no deal. Could we be heading for a lock out? Pretty outrageous they are asking nrlw players to train with no contracts,

I assume this will drag on into January but as you say the NRLW players are in complete limbo with no CBA/Cap as they cannot sign with any team and being part time players with full-time jobs and other responsibilities outside of footy these all have to be factored in when deciding whom they sign with.

They were only signing 3 month NRLW contracts for the 6 team comp to cover pre-season and the regular season comp which also needs to change including the ability to sign multi year contracts instead of the season by season contracts they current sign up for.

With it being a 10 team comp in 2023 obviously the contract length will need to be increased which will then be an issue noting the players very much part time status and external factors ( jobs/responsibilities) that they will need to consider when signing with any of the 10 teams.

The NRLW players will need to be adequately compensated for this extended season as they move towards full time professionalism in the Women's game to avoid players having to choose between continuing their career or leaving the game.

NRL players at least can sign train and trial contracts and thus are covered by insurance and then sign full contracts later on when the CBA/Cap is finalised.

I assume players are currently getting paid and will be when the new season starts, regardless if this agreement has been reached or not

The National Rugby League (NRL) is excited to announce the NRL and NRLW salary cap for season 2023 at a new record-breaking level for both male and female players.

The 2023 NRL Premiership salary cap will increase to $12.1m in 2023 from $9.6m in 2022, a 25% increase.

The cap for top 30 players will increase to a historic high of $11.45 million, a 22% increase from the 2022 salary cap.

The development list will increase from $240,000 to $650,000, capturing the relevant development player payments.

The 2023 NRL Women's Premiership's salary cap will increase by 153% to $884,000.

To ensure players share in this unprecedented increase, the NRL has announced that the minimum salary for all male players in a club's top 30 NRL squad will grow to $120,000.

As a result of today's announcement, players who have the standard form ratchet clause in their playing contract will receive an 18% increase to their playing fee, with the increase to be effective from 1 November, resulting in a well-timed year-end bonus.

With the welcome addition of the Dolphins to the NRL Premiership and the NRLW Premiership expanding to a 10-team competition with the inclusion of the Cronulla Sharks, North Queensland Cowboys, Canberra Raiders and Wests Tigers, more elite players will be part of the rugby league family than ever before and will share in these significant pay increases.

Whilst the RLPA and NRL continue negotiations, the parties had extended the current amended CBA.

The above increases will be in addition to the players' entitlements under the current amended CBA while the parties continue negotiations in good faith.

25% increase, but they took 18% pay cuts during COVID which are being restored, so it's not as impressive at it seems.

Good to see the minimum wage increase. Players shouldn't be breaking their bodies for a paltry $80k.

The real winners are the players 26-30 who now join the Top 25 under the same conditions

So NRL clubs have money for a NRLW team

But we still have 7 clubs waiting to be allowed to play

Some of the female journos on twitter make me laugh, going ballistic about the women’s pay at 884k. I’m sorry but it’s not the woman’s game that brings in the money. 153% increase and still bagging the nrl.
