Good old Clint still having a sook because he didn’t get his moment in front of the cameras. PVL should just sack off the RLPA, see how many players fancying walking away from the game as a result and going to be a tradie instead.
The guy is totally irrelevant and is trying to make it about him

he was an average player who has a famous dad, he himself is most famous for dating Jennifer Hawkins

The announcement from the NRL only said the cap was agreed too. No where did it say the CBA as a whole was done

Also they play a lot less games per season as well.

They do and the biggest area for potential growth in the game is NRLW. Right now though it doesn't stand on its own financially.

So any whinging out the difference in funding is way off the mark

Doesn’t sound like it was agreed to

“To announce new salary caps for players without their agreement and bypassing their association is unprecedented,” RLPA chair Deidre Anderson said.

compared to last tv deal/negotiation (2018)

Proposed salary cap increase (no deal is yet signed) 21%
projected club grant increase 31.5% (a projected extra $82.7mill a year)

tv deal increase 4.4%
Projected nrl total revenue increase 15%

as usual with pistol Pete and his hand puppet running the show the management of it is a total balls up with rlpa saying no agreement is yet signed.
if it stands players and clubs have done very well. good to see min wage raised.
Pistol Pete has bought himself some more time in charge with his generous bag of gold to the clubs.
Be interesting to see where the money is taken from to pay for it.
Hahaha well it can't be from WA... they would have to have money to have it taken from them

Junior Amone tried that recently.

It didn't end well.

Players may get a little more support if they came up with anything to give back to the game like school or junior club visits staying or staying out of trouble. Should drop the salary cap 1% everything a player ends up in court. All they do is suck the game dry and not give a rats about the future

Unlike French or English union who need owners putting in to cover wages this is money generated by the game itself

indeed clubs are getting 5 million on top

the days of nrl players getting a base of 2 million pa won’t be far away

pretty decent coin for a sport which dominates just over half of Australia and a chunk of Auckland

The only argument from the RLPA that I can see is that the NRLW wage is still below the average wage. Meaning girls are still semi-pro

But at a domestic level NRLW $30k is not that far behind Netball $43k and AFLW $39k

Noting that most NRLW players also play HNWP or QRLW

Plus plans to increase NRLW to $80k in 2025 and further team expansions

They added a lot of teams as well so it’s not just higher wages but more opportunities for women to chase their dream

It will be like that for a few seasons yet, They need to get some revenue in

Some of the female journos on twitter make me laugh, going ballistic about the women’s pay at 884k. I’m sorry but it’s not the woman’s game that brings in the money. 153% increase and still bagging the nrl.
So only Males watch NRL then is what you are implying and thus the Women's game shouldn't be receiving their fair share of the revenue generated

An 800 k Cap is certainly not that especially when the NRLW have to juggle their footy commitments around full time jobs and family commitments.

Yep. The comp brings zero money in

Also they play a lot less games per season as well.
Not their fault the length of the season though as they would love to play each team twice and a longer comp.

They also play their state based Women's comp prior to NRLW and being very much part time players they have to juggle footy commitments around their jobs and other commitments since previously the min wage was 8 k raised to 10 k for the 2 2022 comps.

I don't buy this NRL generates the revenue and NRLW doesn't as do only males attend NRL matches and watch NRL matches.

That development list increase is f**king Huge..
Are they increasing the size for the development squad, is that why its that big, thats a significant bump up...

Well now PVL aint going nowhere, he just polished everyone... lets bring on the slow clap

Previously the development contract wage was 60k with players training full time with the NRL squad - Teams could sign up to 6 players so not sure then what the wage will be and whether more than 6 players can be signed.

Originally the development contract wage was to be $ 120k

Can you buy memberships to NRLW?

What about tickets to NRLW magic round?

Rugby League for 90 years was semi pro, That changed compare that timeline to NRLW timeline.

That isn't a knock on the women but just where the 2 comps sit, The fact they are in a 10 week comp and $1m salary cap is a good thing. Hell I can't even support my club in the competition.

So it is correctly going in baby steps
