Whenever I see workers pushing for better pay and conditions I always take the side of the employer.

So the players shouldn't wear any of the relocation costs?
they already dId by agreeing to cut the cap for 20-22 By $50mill. The nrl announcing a significant surplus in 22 is what put the revenue % back on the agenda I’d suggest.

What are you talking about, he was already there some 2023 years ago... died on the cross and rose a few days later

Yeh you should blindly take their side without looking objectively at the facts

the workers united will never be defeated

The fans don’t understand when they call players greedy

it’s not about the salary cap

also why do players have to have operations privately funded ? Why can’t they just access Medicare if they don’t want to pay for private health care like most people on high wages

I guess the issue here is

Was this actually marketing hype post covid

Versus the reality after covid losses are applied

Yeah Medicare. That’ll work.

will be great to see players out for 18 months while they sit on the waiting list for their ACL repair

The RLPA want the NRLW members to have payments guaranteed after birth until the child is 3?

I am supportive of insurance and maternity leave sure and players being looked after if injured during play but this one is a piss take.

5 years post retirement medical cover up to $100k total
$50k for players diagnosed with CTE
slight increase on current transition out fund for players who have to retire due to injury
New committee for consultation on major game changers like rules competition structure etc compromising rlpa, refs union and nrl reps.

seems fair.

They have a year after they retire to fix any injury

and I don’t think you can attribute an acl incurred 13 months after they retire to their past career

or as I said if they don’t want Medicare they can purchase this thing call private healthcare

Players looking for 200 million In payments over the agreed salary cap

big sticking point is players want a say on any future rule changes which abdo says is irresponsible

also the rlpa doesn’t seem to want the women’s comp to expand to 12

Hmmm

Comp structure - NRL responsibility

Rules - should be IRL responsibility but dont we already have ex player or coach on the rules committee. Should never have current player or coach

NRL reps - no such thing

Clubs, Coaches and Players should have no say in the way the NRL as a comp is run

I reckon they are just dirty about how the six again aswell as other interpretations of rules got ushered in so quickly mid season some years ago, so i get the frustration, but it shouldn't be so drastic with regards to rule changes anymore, and they most certainly should not be involved in creating rules

I'm willing to bet most of the folks criticising the players would be screaming blue murder if their own employers pushed ahead with critical reforms or changes at their workplace without an EBA...

My last knee reco I was still pretty much 8-10k out of pocket with private health when you included scans, excess, surgeons gap, physio gap, and all that shit.

God forbid blokes who bash themselves to pieces for your entertainment every week want some sort of access to assistance for issues after their career. I'd imagine the ongoing costs for something like neck or back surgery, or anything to do with CTE or brain issues, are a hell of a lot higher

Does Coke or Maccas consult the bottom level staff before they make changes to better the business

I get that but the big picture the NRL did what was best for the game. Clubs, Players will do what is best for them

So it should be ongoing? For anyone to ever play the game?

What is RU's, cricket and soccers policy? That can be used as a guide as to what is fair. The US sports have very limited money outside of contracts
