I disagree on R&B/Hip hop song for NRL, the hip hop culture is simply nowhere near as strong, if it's even in it, as in the NBA and NFL. They should stick to rock music and pick a good one at that, the current song is crap for an intense hard hitting impact sports. They need more drum beats.
Are you kidding? The Bulldogs army is full of 15 year old Tupac wannabe gangstas.

If you want to go fro the rock theme than POD Alive is a GREAT song to get the competitive juices flowing.

Personally I think returning to 'Simply the Best would be AWESOME for the game. Would bring back the memories of a golden era of league but the campaign should focus on the current product.

Jet have been sooo overkilled it isnt even entertaining music anymore. I think that no matter what the artist/band it should always be an Aussie....I reckon The Living End, The Casanovas or The Datsuns doing a cover of "Long Way To The Top" would be f***ing tops for an NRL theme...

If u want an Aussie band then how do The Datsusns count, they are kiwis champ

I was always a fan of The Holy Grail.
A pic of the Summons-Provan Trophy backed to that would be great.
I know the cricket used it but the NRL Trophyis the Holy Grail. (especially to Sharks Supporters).
No doubt the Roosters will push for 2 out of 3 Aint Bad.

dont know what the name of it was but for the thunderstruck soundtrack they got a collection of australian musicians from a whole heap of bands together to cover some acca dacca songs, y not try something like that - maybe new musos doing older songs?
(i think that daniel johns, phil form grinspoonn and a couple of other guys are geting together now to do a cover of evie, get them together for this?)
thats my team still good but

I like the harder edge, goes best with the tough game that is Rugby League. Save the soft songs for a soft game.

If it wasn't for the car ads my fave would be AC/DC - Are You Ready? (for a great game)

OK, How About this, rent out a copy of Transformers the movie, and the main theme song "the touch" cheesy 80's "rock" by stan bush...i can just see it, slow mo intro to the slow part of the song "you've got the touch, youve got the poweeeeeeeeeer....YEAH!!" then into the rock riff...it would go off...

I love: "That's my team!" The Hoodoo Guru's have done well changing the lyrics around just for the game and hope they keep it going. Failing that, "Kick start my heart!" is another awesome track that would suit League down to the ground. Motley Crue would probably want a motza for the N.R.L. to use it though.

On a similarly related topic, at Penrith home games, they used to play AC/DC's "Back in Black" when they were putting the boy's names and stats on the big screen just before they came out on to the paddock early in the season. Suited our boys perfectly, and certainly reved up the crowd! Can't imagine why the powers that be at Panthers got rid of it! :(
