NRL Touch

What play-the-ball? And they are mostly gazelles playing touch these days. In tag the body shape is constantly different all over a team. And the guile and skill is still given a chance, especially around the ruck area.

Tag doesn’t have the numbers touch has. Touch is huge. Possibly the biggest football code in Australia (I don’t consider soccer to be football).

PS; Sshhhhh. Don't talk about the negligible tv ratings touch presides over. At least have something like tag on. (at least that looks more like rugby league with its play the ball and kicks in play).

You’re right, we should spend more time talking about how shite shield is the biggest comp in Australia on the cusp of sending the NRL to a graveyard, right?

Understand that.. And had touch not gone rebel with its original rules like the play the ball, I would have no issue with touch. Atm tag is much closer to rugby league than touch . And that's not saying that touch could revert to its original rules which are based from tippy league.

Or more to the point: being apathetic and ignorant whilst other codes grow? !

Here comes @Stallion on another of his pointless crusade showing his lack of knowledge to all!

Speak for yourself. You voted to stuff up touch footy. BUT will not acknowledge your mistake. Especially with respects to not assisting rugby league . The bearer of tippy league.Touch footy origins!

It wasn't a mistake, the participation numbers confirm this and continue to grow, up 11 % in the last 2 years. But that's right you and your mates stopped playing so that should tell us everything!

I believe participation numbers would be much bigger had original rules werected still in play. I know of plenty of ex footballers whom do not play touch because of the rule changes of 1996. These are massive in number but you would rather us play tag! (which is growing! )

Sorry Touch is growing at a faster rate and starting from a higher base so your point is wrong.

I have no problem with people playing tag, it has its mechanisms for creating mistakes in the defensive line and Touch has its own. I prefer the mechanisms that touch uses, I am not on here saying tag has to change its rules so I will play it, I choose to play Touch because I prefer it. I strongly suggest you do the same and stop trying to change a sport many people like to play to make it more like the sport you prefer! You are a pretty selfish person to be honest.

How ignorant! The base was created from original touch footy rules which you you have compromised. I tell whom is sorry. The code of rugbyleague ! You have that bit harder for players to relate to rugbyleague by eliminating the very important and fundamental play the ball rule. You shouldn't be using the word. It should be an apology to tippy league / rugby league!

Between league and union, there’s only one code growing, and it aint union. You can pretend otherwise all you like, wont make it true.

Not so from recent participation figures? ! Hope they are wrong but it's been published and printed recently. Union numbers about 100000 above rugby league participation numbers. Hope it's not true. But it's been publicised and criticised in this very website.

How am wrong? All semi contact versions of rugby league require mechanisms to make defence more difficult, touch has them and tag has them, otherwise the defence dominates the sport and you end up with low scoring matches. It is a simple fact you refuse to acknowledge, I am happy for you to keep playing tag as that suits your preferences. So stop trying to change the sport I prefer to be more like the one you prefer! That is why you are selfish, you want to take away my option, I am not doing that to you.

Lol. You have already changed touch footy in 1996. "Now let's get that right!

All semi contact versions of Rugby League need a mechanism to weaken the defence, this has been told to you so many times and at no point have you provided an option for achieving this!

I also note you didn't respond to the links showing your lies about Rugby participation numbers! I guess your counter would be that you have seen more people at Rugby games, that seems to be your evidence with everything.

Your obsession with defence is a poor excuse! Guile and skill along with introducing an ability to kick and perhaps a rule that only applies when teams are ten metres from the attacking try line may assist. But to eliminate a fundamental rule such as playing the ball is not the way to go. It's reduced the rugby league look/feel In the game of touch. You can't see that ! Others can and do.
The participation figures are coming from a very disturbing low btw. And female participation props up the overall rise from this low. The article was also generated from NRL. com. (some positive spin)

Lol, touch is in the top 10 participation sports in the country, has the closer ratio between male and female participation rates or any team sport and you see these things as a negative? What is wrong with you? Also would you mind addressing your lie about rugby participation rates?
