Lol, touch is in the top 10 participation sports in the country, has the closer ratio between male and female participation rates or any team sport and you see these things as a negative? What is wrong with you? Also would you mind addressing your lie about rugby participation rates?

Tell you what you are clearly avoiding! You and your so called "touch cronies" have augmented a fundamental rule chsnge (the abolition of the play the ball) That's your mistake. It can be fixed. The current way touch is played is not in the spirit of the game as it originally was. Tippy league had play the ball and even kicking. You have bastardised and made a mockery of the way touch should be played. And it's definitely not ceaselessly trying to play the opposition offside! And that's what you get with the "run and dump' we see in touch as of recent times.

It's pretty simple. The NRL have partnered with touch football to:

a) offer a non-contact version of the sport to keep kids with overprotective mums in the game rather than them playing soccer.

b) boost its participation rates which directly correlates to Government funding - why touch and not tag? Touch was preferred to tag because it has a higher playing base

Touch gets more women playing and more players in general outside of NSW & QLD. Think of the bigger picture of the NRL brand in the sporting landscape and not about the play-the-ball style.

All I know Touch not a spectator sport I want to watch. There are a lot of sports and movies I prefer to watch before Touch RL.

Not having all NRL clubs playing also reduces its interest

Also I do not like having my hard earned money wasted on a another sport when I attend matches

Are you aware that touch approached the ARL to affiliate in 1996? Coincidently after being knocked back by the ARL the people involved with touch got rid of the fundamental play the ball. No link dickhead but it's the truth!

What's with the insult?

Who cares about the play-the-ball. We can access increased government funding due to the increased participation of players under the NRL banner.

It would be cool if you could get some kicking in there.
I think a rule similar to American football forward pass rule (applied to kicking) would be good, you can kick once in the set, it has to be caught on the full or else it is a turn over, the defense can bat it down and it is still a turn over.
This would address the one big issue I have with touch footy which is that there are no line breaks and therefore really no big plays.

I reckon I would rather watch womens touch than womens tackle, mainly because the touch ladies are pretty attractive.

Come on, be fair. How can one come to a Rugby League forum and not be impressed with Stallions passion for the essential elements of the code.

I don't really think of touch as a spectator sport, more a social and participation sport!

Insulting the code is worse champ. "Who cares about the play the ball ...." is an extremely ignorant answer/response.

Why would anyone believe what you say is the truth when you have been caught out lying again in this thread? Would you please address your lies about Rugby participation numbers being higher than Rugby League participation numbers!

Suggest you're the accuser and liar! And a fiend when it comes to significant rugby league rules missing from a softer version of the code! Are fessing up to the 1996 decision to rid touch footy of the play the ball. And with the statistics : they can be interpreted differently. No doubt the numbers are based from low figures and assisted by female participation. So very misleading pending on what you look at.

Just share the link that says that Rugby has higher participation numbers than Rugby League? You just make rubbish up and try to pass it off as fact, you are very Trump like in that regard, is that where you learnt the skill?
