Coach Thtr has named a near full-strength line-up to face Forest Dragon's Robbin' Thievin' Hoods
With Cheyse Blair and Kyle Stanley both being currently unavailable this week, Newly Debutant Eel Jake Mullaney has been named at Fullback with Canberra Prop Dane Tilse being released from the roster to accomodate Mullaney's presence.
Warriors Boom Rookie Konrad Hurrell will miss this week through Injury though as usual Kane Linnett has been named at his replacement.
"Yeah Kane-o is a very good replacement for Koni for sure, Definitely scores points frequently and we have an abundance of depth in those centre positions with Greg (Inglis) and Jarrod (Croker) with Konrad on the bench so it's a real luxury to have Kane come in for us because he would make alot of other starting sides in the league"
For the first time this year not including the bye rounds Bulldogs Back-rower Dene Halatau was missed the cut 17 though has been named on an extended bench.
"Yeah, I spoke to Dene and he is dissapointed but it really shows the competition we have going in that forward pack and I spoke before regarding Kane Linnett and the centre depth we have and I think we have similar quality depth in that backrow"
Chris McQueen also seemingly very unlucky to miss the squad after scoring a try for Souths on the weekend.
"It's unfortunate for Chris he is a good young player that can fill centre, wing or the backrow but unfortunately we are over-stocked in the backrow where his real strength is and Josh (Mansour) returns from the bye.
Sharks back-rower Wade Graham has been selected as captain over Sensation Greg Inglis after recent outstanding performances that have totaled in the double figures which also pushes incumbent starter Beau Scott to the bench
"He may not yet have a star by his name but Wade has really stepped up his performances and has been consistently solid all year but he really has gone into his own in the past few weeks and he is very pleased with being captain this week"
"Greg will be able to concentrate on his own game more so and step in a leadership role when he feels to do so, certainly nothing wrong with his form just opting to give him a break this week"
Souths United have the luxury of a number of high scoring performers of recent with Rabbitoh back-rower Dave Taylor another solid option along side Injured Centre Konrad Hurrell to don the C.
Despite recent rumours, Thtr has scoffed at suggestions that they were prepared to trade kickers with NRL leading pointscorer Jarrod Croker for the Returning Michael Gordon despite potential improvement within the balance of the backline
"Perhaps but we will certainly deal with the options we have at Fullback while it's manageable to make sure we can retain Jarrod and being the leading pointscorer he is certainly a very valuable asset to have despite our overflowing centre depth and limited No.1 stock"
Despite not being named in Parramatta's Round 19 team Cheyse Blair has been named on an extended bench as cover alongside Halatau and McQueen
