A new western stand that blends in with the one on the eastern side should be the priority. The northern stand can be done in the future. Maybe put a roof on the southern one to blend in with the eastern and new western stand so it looks like it travels all the way around the ground like a horseshoe.put a new corporate west stand up and cover south stand and its better than other nrl stadiums except the new ones. Like a smaller but more compact version of Newcastles stadium. Get it to 25k-27k and it will be perfect size for us for at least a few decades. Then when a mining boom comes along and they can justify leaving it they can build us a new one at Burswood!
Out of 20 odd stadiums used in NRL it will sit around 7th (8th if penrith gets built) in the table when next stage of development is done.

yeh it pinches a bit in that corner but there's a bit of space behind there, its car park not road. But it would mean some tree removal and we know how well that goes down!North West end will be impacted be the road aswell. Not sure they could fit a full length of the field grandstand in.
Eastern stand is a good as Commbank's east stand
South stand was designed to have a roof in same style as east stand added at a later day. Yeh Id put a roof on there and add a new West stand.A new western stand that blends in with the one on the eastern side should be the priority. The northern stand can be done in the future. The new western stand could be made solely for the corporate sector. That way the regular fans will flock to the eastern stand, giving the game a good presentation on television. Nothing worse than seeing a near full or sold out western stand at Lang Park with a quarter full eastern stand.North West end will be impacted be the road aswell. Not sure they could fit a full length of the field grandstand in.

I like the idea of a pirate ship as it'll make the ground stand out. The Pirates brand will be stuck in people's minds when they see the pirate ship. Things like that will help our game gain an advantage over the other second-tier sports in Perth.South stand was designed to have a roof in same style as east stand added at a later day. Yeh Id put a roof on there and new West stand . North stand is ok as is for now. We could put a Tampa Bay style Pirate ship in the North stand upper corner, that would be cool!
yeh would be fun for sure. Other thing they could do at North end would be to extend the shed terracing across full length. That would add an extra 2000 or so to capacity cheaply. Again would be unique for NRL to have a decent sized standing terraced end.I like the idea of a pirate ship as it'll make the ground stand out. Blame Gallop and company for sitting on their arse and not expanding into Perth despite being approached by multiple bidders from the market. The actions of the Sydney-centric NRL have had dire and irreversible consequences for the game outside of Sydney. They've made life harder for new franchises in Adelaide and Perth and given our main competition a huge free kick in Brisbane. As I mentioned before that boat sailed in 2012. Having invested $160mill so far in HBF park there's no way a Govt can justify walking away from it now to spend a further $300mill plus somewhere else. Real shame and very short sighted by the Govt at the time but it is what it is now so we have to now campaign to make HBF park as good as it can be.
The frustrating thing is there is a parcel of land sitting between crown towers and Optus stadium that would be perfect and having spent hundreds of millions on the Burswood infrastructure for Optus it would have made total sense to put another stadium there. Oh well no one said Govt's were very bright most of the time!

Clearly you're just an arrogant, blinkered NSWRL sycophant mate.Reducing the NRL by 5 teams? No I wouldn't advocate for that.
And some childish attempt to convince me, isn't going to work
Whilst the lack of strategic direction by the NRL hasnt helped we cant blame them for this one. Back in 2010 there was major rumblings that Perth would get an NRL club coming in for the new tv contract. That along with the, at the time, successful Force needing a home stadium led to the Govt deciding to spend $125mill redeveloping what was a pretty shoddy NIB stadium. Ironically the seemingly positive vibe around Perth getting an NRL club back then led to this bad decision in hindsight lolBlame Gallop and company for sitting on their arse and not expanding into Perth despite being approached by multiple bidders from the market. If the western stand is made specifically for corporates then a couple of small ships could be placed along the NW and SE corners for kids to play on. It could even be used for childcare during the week.yeh would be fun for sure. Other thing they could do at North end would be to extend the shed terracing across full length. NahYou been there?
Tell me you know nothing about perth without telling me you know nothing about perth lolNah
but there’s this thing called google it’s really handy these days
HBF Park
HBF Park is a state-of-the art rectangular stadium providing world class sporting and concert events to all fans. It is home to A-League team, Perth Glory and Premier Rugby Club, Western Force.www.hbfpark.com.au
Look at that second tier it’s looking over the roof below
and there’s Various other stands next to it
and there is no roof cover
Correct. But that's about 1/4 of the stadium which needs to be rectified. You don't need to blow up the whole thing. One new eastern stand makes it like Newcastle.Nah

At least half needs doing and it will still be averageCorrect. But that's about 1/4 of the stadium which needs to be rectified. You don't need to blow up the whole thing. One new eastern stand makes it like Newcastle.
Dont entertain this fool. He's got me on ignore so has literally missed the 2 pages of the discussion on HBF park lolAt least half needs doing and it will still be average
it should be 2 tiered and roofed all the way round
and the main stand looks so dated and looks like had minimal corporate boxes
Only 5 rectangular stadiums in Australia meet your criteria. At least half needs doing and it will still be average

Yeh and by coincidence rugby league clubs play at all those groundsOnly 5 rectangular stadiums in Australia meet your criteria.
The stadium is fine, im not sure what we are going on about, yes it might need a few improvements, but its not holding back a new perth team back from acquiring a license, if anything its perfect, take the bigger games to optus like double headers or state of Origin, but as far as the capacity and ground its adequate for a 1st grade NRL side for the moment, till they decide if they want to expand on any renovationsJust to put the fool right the east stand has open air corporate seating boxes with corporate facilities, bbq terrace, private bars etc are under the stand. (The white sections in the middle 6 sections of the east stand in my photo)
there are about 12k undercover seats at the moment and 1500 under cover standing.
But we do need a new corporate west stand And be nice to get the roof on south stand.
and this looks dated? haha what an idiot.,View attachment 67848
