NRL's growth mindset points to 18th team. And it ain't Perth.

The stadium is fine, im not sure what we are going on about, yes it might need a few improvements, but its not holding back a new perth team back from acquiring a license, if anything its perfect, take the bigger games to optus like double headers or state of Origin, but as far as the capacity and ground its adequate for a 1st grade NRL side for the moment, till they decide if they want to expand on any renovations

I was there for the 9's, Reminded me of Parra Stadium of 2016. Certainly adequate enough, not sure it would do the purpose if the side takes off though

They can then invest in a new one if and when that happens

Hopefully NRL are asking for upgrades now as part of license agreement. Govt's wont spend money if they dont have to so now's the time to be asking for the next $100mill to be spent on it. That would be new west stand, extend shed end terracing and maybe put a roof on south stand. If they can do all that HBF park will be a very good 25-27k ish stadium which will be perfect for us for a long time to come.

Yeh and by coincidence rugby league clubs play at all those grounds

but if you want to defend a ground which is on par with most Sydney suburban grounds be my guest

It’s got one main stand with very limited corporate facilities which looks dated

either end is uncoverered seating

and let’s not even bother talking about that monstrosity that’s opposite the main stand

it’s looks like the scg with the members pavilion etc

maybe Perth should ask Penrith to get some of the stands that are being knocked down they would actually improve hbf “park”
At least it doesn't have a bloody hill along its eastern sideline.

It's baffling that NSWRL fans are demanding a world class stadium for a Perth-based team while Manly, Cronulla, Wests, Penrith and St George play out of shitholes.
Throwing stones... cows were also playing out of a massive shithole, up until FURSTON!!! got the QLD govt to build them a new one... but yeah throw those stones, you fkn hypocrite!!

Only been six crowds above 10k this season in the
@NBL
and four (all four) of those
@RACArena

@PerthWildcats
Cats crowds 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th biggest this year.

It’s not fine it’s average

venues wa are asking what it takes to get a team so obviously one of the answers is a much better stadium

look how the afl made sure the giants and suns got every advantage with new grounds when they entered the afl

the afl even got management rights for the suns as well

maybe vlandys should ask for management rights to the ground during nrl games (ie the club keeps the bar and food sales)

poor stadium deals almost killed the titans for example

AFL created those 2 clubs from scratch and plonked them into those markets, NRL won't be creating a Perth franchise, or any franchise for that matter, theyll hand out a license to a club that already exists which will promote into the NRL, if its someone like the bears then they'll move to perth or nz etc... venuewa will help with certain things but its mostly about having content to sell, not about creating a franchise... the stadiums fine, you are over reacting

It’s one thing I admire their leaders is how much help they give their expansion clubs

we on the other hand do nothing and then when they struggle whose fault is it

the wa govt run a massive surplus they can easily afford a new 300 million build

its the same baffling demand that the Titans should be getting 20k a game but Sydney clubs that have been around for 50-70 years and have access to more away supports, its ok for them to average 13k.....

Yeah it`s crazy, all the things they could hold there. League, soccer and union internationals and World Cups, all of both male and female categories. Throw in things like League`s Indigenous round and maybe a game or two from this new pre-season League comp. And that`s before you start on things like concerts that aren`t big enough for Optus.
Christ they could even resurrect fumbleball-X for a laugh. That`s the one where Roy Masters said the X stands for export, because they thought they could sell it to the world. Fumbleball-X being played at Old Trafford sort of thing.

Optus is one of the best stadiums in the land. It presents wa in a very good light

hbf doesn’t. It does the job ok but it’s never going to be world class

Venues wa are asking. Vlandys can give them a shopping list and see how desperate they really are for a team

that’s what fumble ball would do. Make stupid demands and see which ones stick
