The major downside of NRLW Round 1 was OCD refereeing. One example -

Karra-Lee Nolan in Tigers v Raiders must have referred 4 or 5 held-up-over-the-goal-line calls. She knew there hadn't been a grounding, everybody watching knew there hadn't been a grounding, but she still asked the bunker to go through the motion of confirming there hadn't been a grounding.

The only effect of these neurotic referrals is to chop the game up and slow it down. Same with all the phantom knock-ons and little bobbles officials obsess over.

That is what surprised me about it. I've heard more excitement from an Alex Johnston walkover try than I did from that amazing try last night.

Not sure,,,,but it was a poor effort from the commentary team there.....excellent skills in that try.
