Roosters, Eels set to open 2022 NRLW season

Defending premiers Sydney Roosters will start their title defence against the Eels on August 20 after the 2022 NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership draw was released on Friday.

The Parrramatta Eels have announced two co-captains for the 2022 NRLW competition.

Last season’s captain Simaima Taufa will be joined by recently re-signed Tiana Penitani to guide the team through the highly anticipated five-round competition which kicks off on August 20.

The 24-member squad were handed their 2022 blue and gold jersey by coach Dean Widders in front of family and friends and the Parramatta board on Thursday night.

With 24 hours to go the NRLW Parramatta Eels squad to take on the reigning premiers, the Sydney Roosters has been updated.

Gayle Broughton, Tess Staines, Brooke Walker, Losana Lutu, Brooke Anderson, Rima Butler are all set to make their NRLW debut.

Tiana Penitani & Simaima Taufa will co-captain the side.
