round of the season. leaguetv need to give up their weekends completely and get to nso or henson on saturday, then back up at campbelltown on sunday.

Big weekend mate this one. Ladder taken into account. I am nervous about the Windsor game when i see the jets line-up. :?

7 season games left, and we play Windsor twice out of seven.

Must win game next weekend. Gotta stop the chance from coming as a challenge at the top 4. ;-)

7 games left. Norths are looking really good and unstoppable as No 1 though. Doing the math on games left almost now. lol.....

PS... Wenty are due for a win though. hey. ? lol ( winks ). Though at North Sydney Oval they shall be a steam rollover on current form in front of a growing bandwagon crowd.

Wow that's two pretty big upsets Girv. Wenty were dead lucky to get away with a point against us last week. We didn't need your lot having a loss the week before meeting us. Oh well it'll be that much sweeter when we beat you fired up.

That gap between 4th and 5th is down to 2 points and if we can knock off the silvertails tomorrow the race for 3rd and 4th will be wide open.

yappy those results certainly keep things interesting. There is some intense competition for positions on the table.

Good work Cobras.

Manly held us out 24-18.

Heard Newcastle gave it to Central Coast.

Manly and Wenty making a surge at first place hey !?

Jets have "nothing" on that performance.

20 nil at halftime time I think. Just did not tackle.

Must have had a rocket put up em at the halftime break as came out in the second half 10/8. But nowhere near enough. And another " crucial " game is thrown away when it really counted.

A HISTORIC double-header involving rugby league and rugby union games at North Sydney Oval on Saturday could be the catalyst for teams from the rival codes taking the audacious step of swapping players.

In an Australian first, Northern Suburbs will play West Harbour in the Tooheys New Shute Shield at 1.30pm, followed at 3pm by the NSW Cup league game between North Sydney Bears and Western Suburbs.

At a time when the Sonny Bill Williams drama has increased tensions between the codes, Northern Suburbs and North Sydney are working together to mend bridges and form close ties.

"We hope it will be the start of relationship between the two clubs," North Sydney general manager and Bears legend Greg Florimo said.

The rivals are already sharing a gym and that is set to extend to other areas.

"If we combine our resources we become a stronger unit, especially with the onslaught of Aussie rules and soccer," Florimo said.

And down the track Florimo could see the day when the two clubs actually swap players.

"The skill base is the same, so why not?" he said.

Florimo said many good league players had had a stint in rugby union and made a fist of it, and vice versa.

"I think there are benefits for both codes and you are always looking for that little edge, looking for that added advantage," Florimo said.

"And if there is anything we can pick up from them or they can pick up from us, it's going to help our game."

Norths Rugby CEO John Tully said the clubs had worked well together and agreed the swapping of players with the Bears was certainly not out of the question.

"If we were playing the three o'clock game, we might tap a few of their players on the shoulder to hang around and be fresh reserves for us in first grade," Tully said.

"With some of the players the Bears have had this year, they would be pretty handy."

Tully said the reaction of his rugby players to the groundbreaking initiative had been fantastic.

"The majority of them are going to stay back and watch the league," he said. "A lot of them were reminiscing about growing up watching Norths in the NRL."

Waratahs and Norths star rugby back Sam Norton-Knight is looking forward to being involved in the cross-code derbies and will also hang around to watch the league game.

"There is something novel about it," he said. "And with any luck some league fans will get in nice and early to watch a good game of rugby and see why some guys are leaving their sport."

Florimo said it would be interesting to see the public's reaction.

"It will certainly define which game is better in some people's eyes," he said.

"And if there is a difference at all, whether there is a future in bringing the two codes together."

Saturday will also finally mark the healing of a 100-year-old wound between the neighbouring clubs.

Things soured in 1908 when members of the old North Sydney rugby team caused a sensation by defecting to join the first North Sydney rugby league side.
