Funny you mention NRL.com... their player ratings are out and 5 players scored 8 or higher... I said 5 or 6 played 8/10 games.

I'm not commenting on all that. You're just being honest to your opinion. This was Cleary's first big dominant performance in origin so the comments after game 1 were justified.

yes because a senior player now he needs to deliver. 5 year deal on over $1m the club has gone hard. Limiting who can put around him means the pressure is on

So he is up there with DCE, Ponga, Ash Taylor etc as far as being heavily critised if results don't follow. Especially as we will lose some very good players over those 5 years.

If he can retire with a couple of premierships then it will be a wise decision and money well spent

The next big step is Suncorp. Counting Origin a successful club run. He is 2 wins from 8 games up there. (Which before I get called a hater) isn't all on him but the be elite - which given his age etc would be the aim.. You need to win everywhere in all conditions. I don't rate this QLD side but they will improve so probably the best chance to seal the series.

Massive game from Cleary.

I don’t want to blow my own horn, but notice how it all mostly came from his running & kicking? That’s where he excels, it’s what he should concentrate on. He’s not an off the cuff player, he doesn’t have an amazing passing game. But what he does have is a great kicking game and great running game, as well as defence obviously. If he gets those things right his confidence will go right up.

Nathan doesn’t get the official try assists, but the first two tries came about because of his plays. The first his line break running the ball, the second his kick behind play for the repeat set.

Your probably right, but the personal criticism around Nathan was never warranted and he stood up tonight and he deserves the accolades.

Plenty of the criticism after the GF and his origin performances was warranted, the fact is up until tonight he’s gone missing in big games. And most of it isn’t personal, it was criticism of his play.

And before you say I’m always negative, take a look at what I said after origin one, or what I said tonight either here or on Twitter.

Who got man of the match?

Why do 5 players scoring a point less than Cleary did take away from his performance? Cleary scores a 9 but its not worth shit because 5 players scored 8s?

I said Cleary I would of given Cleary 7.5/8-10 but 5 or 6 others would of got 8 also. Meaning it was a great team performance with no standout IMO.

As you would know from discussions on Penrith players I rate metres gained more higher then others ( for example I rate keeping To'o instead of Sivo good)

So I saw it as the metres gained domination as putting the halves in good spots to do their thing. Which is why I had Tedesco in front. Gained the most metres with a try and 2 assists.

I was just pointing out Fox Sports saw it the same just different ratings. Like they gave both wingers 8 and I thought they benefited from the metres the pack made.

Doesn't make these other opinions wrong just different
