He did, shame he had to play in the 09, 10 era *shudder*.

Thought Galloway was unlucky as well, got one game and it was about 10-15 minutes from memory

Mullen isn't a halfback, choose between the two imo. Put a halfback in there, probably Adam Reynolds at least deserves a crack.

Edit

meant it the other way around

7. Carney
6. Mullen

Exactly the same problem. Both are running 5/8ths. Mullen is SLIGHTLY better at organising, but you wouldn't want him to take the bulk of the organising.

Still feel a Mullen/Carney/Sezer with Adam Reynolds at half is your best bet. Reynolds is an organiser, has the best short kicking game in NSW, and an elite goalkicker. If I were picking it Carney would be my 5/8, but the other two are options. Not sure Mullen will be back in time. I rate Aiden Sezer highly.

i don't really feel NSW has had a problem with organisation in recent years. The real problem has been not having a halves combo that could create a way out of a paper bag, mainly the blame for that is Pearce. I think Mullen actually has good organisational skills, he does the job at the Knights pretty well with Tyrone Roberts being the creative half.

Organisation creates points, you need an organiser. Reynolds creates chances anyway. With Jennings/Morris in the centres, having a halfback that is elite at grubbers will be critical. Mullen/Carney/Sezer are natural 5/8ths. They are not halfbacks, none of them are. Tyrone Roberts does a lot of the organising. Mullen does some, Carney does none, Sezer probably does the most out of those 3.

I'd say Seder is definitely a halfback, and I can't see how he and Kelly don't swap numbers! Would like to see him considered for NSW, I reckon if he played for Souffs he would have had a chance by now.

I don't think Reynolds is up to it.

Mullen does the majority of the organising and talking at the Knights. Roberts is a very instinctual player. Both of them are actually. Neither are natural organisers and they both tend to throw the structure to the wind sometimes and just play what's in front of them, but still Mullen has developed some sound organisational skills. I still wouldn't pick him at halfback though (or at all...he's injured). He's much more dynamic at second receiver.

Reynolds will not be a good fit in Origin. I watched him intently in the NRL All Stars vs Indigenous side last year and he looked lost in that match. Sure it was only one match but that was close to a rep game as you could get. Throw him into a SOO match and he will struggle.

In that same match when Sezer got 15 mins game time he looked great but I still wouldn't pick Sezer in SOO at this point in time. But he does have the qualities to be a future halfback for NSW because he is so composed and calm. Btw Sezer might wear the number 6 on his back but he plays like a halfback.

I think Todd Carney should be guaranteed a place in the NSW team. It's now about finding a person to partner him. I think it should be between Mullen or Maloney. I think putting Albert Kelly on the bench should be a must. He is a game changing type player who adds a lot of spark to the team. Him coming off the bench, he can possibly change the momentum of the game.

oh please.
I watched him in that game and agree he was quiet. However i never expected much more from him , given it was his first game after being injured and taken off in the prior year finals game. That game was a nothing game trial , first game back from injury.
I suppose you thought Saints were dead set losers in the first round because they were rolled by Souths in the Charity trial game?

The ONLY real test for Reynolds is to play an Origin game with a forward pack that as a minimum holds its own.

Pearse has been tested and FAILED.
So has Mullins for that matter.

Please judging Reynolds based on last years NRL All stars game

Mullen does a lot of the organising at the Knights. Tyrone Roberts is more of the creative half while Mullen takes on the kicking and organising. A. Reynolds would fail in origin IMO, he doesn't take the line on nearly as enough but yes his kicking game is elite.
