OK, it looks like we are in some minor trouble with; Bird, and Fifita out. The good news is farah is a definite, Jennings and Luke Lewis is back from injury. I didn't see the Sharks game but if Luke played good then he will slot in off the bench perfectly.

1: Hayne
2: B-Morris
3: Idris
4: Jennings - is fit to play now
5: J-Morris
6: Mullens
7: Pearce - Last time or out
8: Tamou
9: Farah - is fit to play now
10: Woods - ***Fifita out
11: Watmough - ***Bird out
12: Cordner
13: Gallen

14: Reynolds/Gidley - I think Gidley will get picked.
15: Merrin
16: Ryan Hoffman - I think Hoffman has a lot of experience and will deliver the goods.
17. Luke Lewis

That is NSW best team to take the field without a doubt!

Brett Mullens is back? i didn't think we were that desperate

Ricky's Origin coaching record is better than Craig Bellamy's just sayin.....

IMO ricky is better at coaching origin than coaching an NRL team. every NSW ricky coached, game 3 was on the line, it was never a dead rubber, thats gotta count for something yeah?

cue the naysayers.

Ricky may yet become the Coach with the most wooden spoons in the modern era.

Lol, and what exactly is your point. Mal's club coaching ability is matched only with his ability to maintain a political career. Club coaching means nothing when it comes to Origin, they are completely different.

If Gidley is fit, Daley will pick him for sure. He is a massive fanboy of his and regardless of how obvious to everyone else in the Rugby League world that he is well and truly past it, Daley still thinks he is an 'origin' player and a lock for the team.

That is why I have a sneaky feeling he will pick Reynolds at 6 with Gidley on the bench

Tbh I think even some of Ricky's harshest critics would acknowledge origin is probably the format for him.

Its a short term environment where his particular brand of intensity is best suited.

Did Gidley ever actually have it ? Serious question.

I vaguely remember he may have played one decent game at origin level coming off the bench, but otherwise he's been consistently very ordinary. And not just ok either, really shown up at that level.

He's barely up to first grade these days

But alas, I think your right Daley and co will pick him if he's fit. :(

Can you point me towards the form that demands their selection? Hang on, weren't you one of the blind f**knuckles who had Hayne hiding out wide somewhere and Dugan at fb a week ago?
Making the Kangaroos you blind f**knuckles!! Once again, piss off QLDr!!

Jennings could be on the wing. Imagine Hopoate and Jennings on the same side. Hoppa is great at setting his winger up. The biggest down fall for Hop at the moment is his speed. But he gets great metres out of dummy half and is getting stronger. Putting Jennings on the wing outside Hopoate (on Boyds side) could really work well

Right now Jennings is a better centre then Hoppa and Hoppa would most likely be a better winger then Jennings under the highball especially so this isnt gonna happen.

I think Gids did have "it" for a 2-3 year period when he was used off the bench (not as captain lol). He would come on, put his energy to use around the ruck and find space. He'd also defend his guts out. He did similar for Australia too, most notably when he came on and covered for Cam Smith when he got injured early in a game

Outside of that he has been pretty average. His games at fullback, which should have been his best, were particularly bad. The bloke just doesnt handle pressure well

The Kangaroos team which was the WC final team due to Sheens running with loyalty and wasn't subject to current form? And yes you were one of the blind merkins who had Dugan at fb, your opinion is terrible.

From an entertainment perspective I want to see Hayne at fullback for the whole series, the bloke is an absolute gun and is wasted on the wing.

Agree totally..

Wing is a specialist position nowdays and centres with little experience can be found out quickly.

Ok. So with the injuries, suspensions and shenanigans involving Blues-eligible players in the last couple of weeks, this is what I've got for Game 1.

FB - Hayne
RW - Hopoate
RC - J Morris
LC - Jennings
LW - B Morris
RH - Mullen
LH - Maloney
AH - Farah
PF - Tamou
PF - Gallen
MF - Watmough
RF - Scott
LF - Graham

I - Lewis
I - Merrin
I - Woods
I - Grant

If I were Daley, I'd make the call to piss Pearce and Cordner off for Game 1......Pearce for good once Mullen shows how good he is.

Merrin, Woods, Grant to rotate through the middle with Tamou, Gallen, Watmough.

EDIT: Forgot to finish me bench.
