Like most of us are thinking, great prop who has been in good form for a long time, however it's definitely his last shot at origin if he doesn't perform again (at least for a while anyway).

Team selected by NRL.com (predictions of course!)

1. Jarryd Hayne
(Parramatta Eels)
2. Brett Morris
(St George Illawarra Dragons)
3. Josh Morris
(Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs)
4. Michael Jennings
(Sydney Roosters)
5. Daniel Tupou
(Sydney Roosters)
6. James Maloney
(Sydney Roosters)
7. Mitchell Pearce
(Sydney Roosters)
8. James Tamou
(North Queensland Cowboys)
9. Robbie Farah (vc)
(Wests Tigers)
10. Aaron Woods
(Wests Tigers)
11. Boyd Cordner
(Sydney Roosters)
12. Beau Scott
(Newcastle Knights)
13. Paul Gallen (c)
(Cronulla Sutherland Sharks)
Interchange:
14. Josh Reynolds
(Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs)
15. Anthony Watmough
(Manly Warringah Sea Eagles)
16. Luke Lewis
(Cronulla Sutherland Sharks)
17. Trent Merrin
(St George Illawarra Dragons)

My thoughts:
9/10. Even without Bird and Fifita, the side is well served in the forwards. Malloney comes in by default due to his goal kicking and better form in the last few weeks. Cons: #,4,5,6,7 are all roosters players - club combinations does not always equal origin success (just remember Dragons and 2011).

...when on form.

He was bad in Game 3 2012.

I agree that it isn't as bad a selection as it appears on the surface, just keepin' it real yo.

His current form is not that great. Just stands out because he's playing in an asshole side.

So many back rowers are more worthy.

I dont remember him being particularly bad Pete

He stands out because he is playing well. He has added a neat off load to his game too

Scott was horrible in his last game for nsw, there's a reason he hasn't been picked since

Doesn't make enough of a dent in the defence line for me, particuarly now that we're missing fifita.

I think they'll go something like

Hayne
Tupou
Jennings
J. Morris
B. Morris
Maloney
Piss
Woods
Farrah
Tamou
Cordner
Lewis
Gallen

Merrin
Watmough
Reynolds
???????

I'm sure they'll come out with something like this, it's not what I'd choose but I'm sure they're thinking along those lines. Let's hope that the mystery man is Tim Grant.

Well, if John Sutton's name was penciled in anywhere on Laurie's clipboard then it has well and truly been rubbed the f**k out after his horrible performance tonight. Well and truly targetted by Mlb in defence and shown up by anyone willing to run the ball near him.

I think that's pretty close to what we'll see.

Not bad and similar to my Team selection. But Beau Scott and Daniel Tupou?? Not a chance. I believed if Watmough or Lewis doesn't start then put Ryan Hoffman as starting. Daniel Tupou, future prospect (maybe) but if there is any origin player that I learned from 2013 SOO was Nathan Merritt?? All the hype, people's choice, and then choked on the field. Yep, classic! Dejavu for D.Tupou, correct? If we have no other strong winger then go back to the basic with origin experience e.g. James McManus.

Nothing wrong with Beau Scott and Daniel Tupou. Comparing Tupou to Nathan Merritt is laughable. At least one of them actually plays first grade.
