NSW Team 2017

The whole Mitchell Pearce: Origin Material thing is reminiscent of The Emperor's New Clothes. Everyone can see that he doesn't have it except the acolytes and the system surrounding him. They'll swear on a stack of bibles that "He's our Man". Everyone else goes "OMFG".

What are you talking about? He always cops the sole blame.
I love this line from chooks fans. He's not a scapegoat, he is the disease. When a game is on the line at SOO level, he has failed, and failed, and failed. Stop kidding yourselves into thinking he hasn't cost NSW a heap of games.

Pearce fans(whether they be NSW or QLD supporters) need to take one of these along to the game to show their solidarity to Mitchy:

Farah 33, Wallace 31. What's two years anyway?

You'd think Moylan would need good quick service just as much as Pearce, even more perhaps because it would have to get through the 7's hands as well..

well it's not like Sterlo is advocating for the future is he? they're both over 30 so they may as well be the same age. as a former halfback, he's looking at what will work best for the HB they're considering for the series. Sterlo doesn't think Farah is a fit for Pearce.

Moylan / Pearce will run the right-half of the field so Moylan would get many opportunities as 1st receiver. Wearing #6 is irrelevant

But, but, but.... it's never Pearce's fault. It's Farah's. No no, it's Maloney's. No wait on, it's Carney's. No sorry I got that wrong, it's Soward's. No, no, no, no, no, it's Anasta's. No it's..
everyone's focusing on the series NSW won without him there (i'd say the Cronk injury was the major variable in that), but they've also lost series without him there too. was that his fault too? Not denying Pearce hasn't lived up to the expectations of a double-digit representative, btw.

Pearce's NRL form is undeniable and puts him in the frame every season. He runs the roosters around the park, has been doing it for years, and apart from last season (where he was missing for a decent chunk of it too), he does it well. he could have a mental problem under pressure, but he's played in countless big matches in the NRL and has come through many of them as a winner. You've got to look at the compatibility of him with some of the NSW players he's played with.....namely Gal, Bird and Farah.....and their authority on the field. There have been many forwards who've been considered average for NSW because of their presence. They've largely been a constant in the NSW losing run too.

The decision for me if I was in Daley's shoes is simple. Select Farah, then go with Maloney & Moylan in the halves. Select Pearce, then go with Peats or Wallace at #9.

He should know what the f**k he's going to do by now. But I can see Daley picking both Farah and Pearce again.

I would like to know how many (and which) games you believe would have been won by NSW had the only change to the team been Pearce out for [insert player] and who his replacement would have been in each instance.

The rot in NSW extends downward from the top to the bottom. Pearce's selection is one symptom of the rot. As has been discussed QLD is not afraid to cast off under-performing players. The rot is why Pearce gets NSW selection. Fix the rot and Pearce and a whole host of NSW players never see an Origin jersey again.

The rot aint gonna be fixed because the leadership can't see a problem(which is themselves).

The game in the GIF when he murdered a three man overlap when trailing narrowly. Could have been anyone at half with the ability to pass a football.
