NSW Team 2017

The game in the GIF when he murdered a three man overlap when trailing narrowly. Could have been anyone at half with the ability to pass a football.

I don't want Pearce in the team anymore than most sane Blues fans. But this is spurious reasoning. The game changes at the moment of kick off with a different team composition. You can't say NSW would have won with any other half with the ability to pass the ball, because there is no way of knowing whether that situation or scoreline would have come up.

I'd have the spine being
1 Tedesco, 6 Hayne, 7 Maloney, 9 Peats

And bench utility i'd have a bolter.
14 Tyrone Roberts

The rest of the team has never been an issue for NSW, and I think there is enough talent to put together a good team around these guys. It's always been the playmakers that have let the Blues down.

Hayne can play 6. But he's never really done it with a great forward pack to give him time. Personally I think he's in the spine or out of the team. Pick specialists in the 3/4.

Roberts can cover every position in the spine plus could slot in at other positions if need be. He's in decent form as well.

I didn't think anyone could do worse than picking 7. Pearce but here we are

You're 100% correct about that being spurious reasoning, and for the very reasons you've said. It's why it was unfair for the initial question to be asked. Stinky bait, but it caught a frog.

I think that the better question to ask is "in which game/s has Pearce been a dominant player in origin?"

Nobody would expect him to be dominant in every game, probably not even a quarter of his games, but what would be expected in a 15 game origin career would be to see at least one example where he took control of the game for the blues. He's the halfback and this is not an unreasonable expectation.

Over ruling? Looks like Farah was running the show there as usual, never even looked at where Hodko was.........and a lovely pass to Pearce.........practically behind him. These two can't be in the team together.
I think your last sentence was one word too long.

I think the trouble would be that Tedesco and the other backs would never see the ball. Hayne is a ball-runner rather than a passer, and Maloney to a large extent likewise. Too many runners, not enough passers.

There is a push on right now to have Hayne at 1 and Tedesco out. Teddy only has himself to blame if this happens, as his form in 2017 has been largely forgettable.

I was expecting this argument. You bomb a try when behind by 4, you cost your side the lead. What might have happened in a parallel universe is irrelevent because once again the golden boy furked urp.

More like Hokko was set and calling for the drop goal then Pearce called for it and Farah gave it to him.

I so badly want Pearce to win a series just so he can rightfully stick the finger up at the shit the courier mail, the qld media and all Queenslander's in general.

Also the many people here who know nothing about football. I am not Pearce's biggest fan by a long shot but Pearce has struggled like any half when their pack is being dominated. This year I don't think this will be the case, though if we keep picking nuffies like Tamou and Merrin who go hiding when the going gets tough then we may struggle again in the middle.

i think most of you lot need to accept that there is no universal agreeance on contentious positions, and just support the team that is announced.

So long as they don't give Pearce the ball on tackle 5.

He can do the run around like a headless chook thing before then.

Good point. It just gets frustrating to see people say things that are blatantly false to justify their opinions on the squad.

like i've said a few times.....exaggerating faults in rep quality level players is endemic of having 10 rival clubs to choose from.

qld have neither selection choice nor club history to work against them
